Yeah there are definitely things that should’ve been fixed throughout the year but overall I haven’t been too disappointed with the gameplay itself, it’s the community that’s the problem. Thousands of new animations added into the game this year yet nearly every possession consists of pgs doing the same escapes over and over until they get a favorable animation. Easiest 2K to shoot and yet people still feel the need to go out and get zens. So much build variety but everyone wants a to make the same copy paste 6’8 guard and 6’11 big. I’m not even mad when someone makes an inside big anymore because at least it’s something different (plus as a pg main I know how to make inside bigs work well). If it was earlier in the cycle it would make more sense since everyone wants to stack wins, figure out the meta, whatever bs to expose the game instead of just playing. But we’re in mf July and every game is still the exact same. Every other post is “best 6’8 build in the game”. Like where is the variety? What’s wrong with just making a build and just trying to have fun? Step backs, middys, spin jumpers, post fades/hooks/spins/dropsteps, hop steps, etc. So many moves and animations to choose from the are just criminally underused because everyone wants to spam the same ones. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been fairly easy to adjust to and winning against it isn’t an issue, it’s just boring to constantly play the same thing over and over especially in gold+ lobbies. Don’t think I’ll be getting 27 when it first comes out for the first time in idk how long but not because I haven’t seen the gameplay. I’m sure it’ll be fine, probably even better. But I just can’t deal with each and every game being played the exact same when there’s so much more to the game.

TL/DR: Gameplay is fine, community sucks, gonna start reading books on offense while I sit in the corner and watch the pg escape back and forth into a contested three 📖
