I’m trying to do hip snatches and hang cleans for multiple reps, and I’ve seen videos of others catching the bar on their hips when bringing the weight down and going again, instead of fully dropping it on the floor.

I’ve tried doing that myself, but I end up smashing the bar against my quads, which hurts like hell when I go above 70 kg. How do the pros actually do it? What movements are they doing so that they are able to catch the bar?
