Up to date information on GalCiv4?
Sadly the game itself is very bad with providing information. A lot of tool tips are missing stuff or outright incorrect.
The wiki also seems to be outdated
So is there any source where I could read about stuff?

So the Cosmic Orrey improvement provides, among other things, +5 Sensor Range and +1 Sensor Range per level.
The +5 is applied to my ships, but the level bonus is not. Which is really sad considering mine is level 19 and that would have been amazing to scout the universe with.
Is that a known bug or so?
So when designing ships it always shows the next step at 3 sensor power, no matter how much sensor power my ship actually has.
And increasing sensor power with modules for starbases or upgrades for ships does not seem to do anything, either.
Anybody noticed something similar?
So started a new game now (didn't play for a year or so) and suddenly I can't see influence borders anymore. Neither mine nor from anyone else.
Makes it really hard to judge some things, for example how close I am to get that one minor planet into my influence.
Anyone knows why this happens?
So I got Federations & Empires just now and wanted to check the stuff out but noticed that my custom nation is a Federation by default ... and I can't seem to change it. At least I don't see any button or check marks where I would.
Are custom nations really all Federations, always, or am I just blind?
So, I think at least, my favourite ship size is M.
I would like a ship with some unique guns on it, to make it really feel like the hero ship. The only ones in the game itself I know of are Envoy/Cipher, but they are not really my type of ship I guess.
Is there any (vanilla aligned) modded ones? A frigate would be my dream ship I guess, but I take a corvette if it is interesting otherwise.
So I haven't played X4 a lot, but did play X2 and TC/AP extensively in the past.
In these games, there always were must have mods, often stuff that then turned into base game functionality.
Anything like this for X4?

Two questions about modding:

b) I know relics can have scaling costs (like Cybrex relics). Can multiple relics be scaling together though? Activating any of them would make them all more expensive?
The title if of course for humorous reasons, but lets get to the point:
There is a lack of civics/origins doing anything with engineers.
For Physicists you have the Astrometeorologist from the civic, you have Astral Researchers from a generally available building, not even a civic or origin required. Then there is this swap from Shroud Forged going against the Animator, forgot the name,, but makes alloys and minerals.
For Biologists you have the Rangers from the civic, Archeo-Engineers and Zookeepers from buildings and finally the Shroud Forged again with their Observator Drones (which honestly double as Physicists).
And Engineers only have events/planetery features - so nothing you can build around - and anyway, the other two get these, too. And I see the dimensional portal almost every game, don't recall the last time I saw an Engineer swap.
tldr: We need some reliable Engineer swaps
So I understand that the Imperium Vitalis advanced authority has a very strong scaling for auras through telepaths and therefore needs a disadvantage.
But not only do you get a whopping -20% job efficiency for all your psionic pops, no you also get -10% unity per 100 telepaths.
Which means that the one world where you would usually stack up all the sanctums for a massive boost will more or less never produce any unity. And all other worlds will still have quite the disadvantage at it.
Even worse: The game does not tell you about the unity malus so you might think "I can live with the efficiency malus" like I did ...
So I did some quick console-command-powered test games and in one of them the district specialisation that provides Resort Workers gave 150 instead of the usual 100 jobs.
But I don't know what caused it, first thought was maybe the Instruments Pleasure World accord, but no.
Anybody knows?
Hey everyone,
I would like to maybe look into modding AoW a bit, so I am wondering if there are any resources or tutorials I could use to get started?
So I haven't played in a while, came back, enjoying my vulcanic run right now.
The only DLC I am not using is Cosmic Storms as there were so many issues with that one.
My question: Did Cosmic Storms get any better or should I just never bother with it at all?
