the journey toward living in alignment with my values…

I am wanting to be more in touch with my values and seeing them reflected in my day to day routine. It’s happening slowly as I make the small changes. Anyone else care to chime in and discuss what they’re noticing or how they’re taking action?

I no longer pay for streaming subscriptions as of the last couple years and im very happy about it. I listen to the small collection of records i have and am willing to put up with the occasional ad if i want to search a specific song on youtube…

I appreciate reddit because i find that people here are genuinely curious and willing to connect, whereas other social media platforms feel like a hamster wheel dopamine trap.

What makes a song GREAT?

Curious to hear people comment on what makes them consider a song especially great? Does it have to resonate with the masses? Does it have to do with structure? A feeling of familiarity but with its own twist? Or maybe it makes you want to listen over and over as to steep in the feeling... Weigh in!

there are only 2 reasons someone would buy your music…

My experience is that the only reasons someone would buy your music these days are because they absolutely love the music, or because they love the artist. Considering todays world of streaming and easy access, I can’t think of any other scenario?

In which case the most valuable thing you can do as a music artist is invest in the music itself and the relationships with the fans. Anything else is secondary in my opinion. Anyone have a
different take?

9.2.2026

When I write music Its an opportunity to take a look in the mirror and show up as a better version of myself in public. I think having a creative practice is likely to become that for anyone who dedicates enough time to a craft.

I’ve spend the last several years diving deep into music production and audio engineering. Many hours glued to the computer in between grabbing a guitar to record and then back to the computer once again. I’m lucky to say i’m a prolific song writer and have felt a strange responsibility to catch up with myself by capturing as many ideas as possible… As I stop for a moment here in 2026 and reflect on the catalog of tunes i’ve amassed I feel proud and also recognize i’ve got a lot to catch up on as far as live performance. Listening to a beautiful song in a pair of headphones is awesome, but watching an incredible performance is its own unique magic. I’m not prepared to deliver something awe inspiring in the live format, but I want to get there…

I’ve got a little more work to do before I can fully make the transition but you can help me by buying a song on bandcamp fridays. The 1$ is not as much about the money as it is the vote of support that you believe in the story that i’m hoping to tell. One of community building, prioritizing creativity and leaving the world not before scattering some beautiful seeds for folks to enjoy as long as we’re spinnin… 🐛✨🦋. Another big help is by sharing the work with anyone you think might enjoy. I’ve learned that not everyone is going to love it all, but theres enough that most people can find something they enjoy. Feel free to go searching or tell me what you like and i’ll offer a suggestion. I’m making my catalog public little by little starting 9/16 with “Peace of Mind” a jazzy love song with a poppy melody that might take you to a french cafe on a sunny morning. Every two weeks after that there will be something new until I decide to take a break… But at least till 1/6/27! Thanks for being here 🤞
