Drive through car wash

Hi Salinas County, my car is definitely due for a car wash from a long road trip and had dirt and bird poop all over now.

Paycheck finally hit so can afford car wash, where would be a good place to roll through?

I prefer the drive-thru car washes more than the DIY

Places to eat

Hey Salinas,

I need recommendations on where to go to eat.

I myself unfortunately cannot have dairy, so usually I got places that have vegan options or are usually centered around, Asian, Indian, or Mexican food that is good without cheese or sour cream.

My partner cannot have kiwis or cauliflower.

We eat everything!

Any restaurants that may fit our needs?

Also open to any vegan restaurants or dessert places!

Thanks reddit

Cat cafe/dog cafe/ bunny cafe

Hello Bay Area, does anybody know of any dog cafes, cat cafes or bunny cafes within the area? I want to surprise my husband with a cute date out. We are both big animal lovers and he loves coffee too

Thanks Redit!

New Role, more sophisticated wardrobe

Hi everyone!!!

I recently got a promotion with my company which I'm super excited about.

However this means not only assisting students but meeting families face to face.

My new position has the role coordinator in it which means I'm coordinating activities, interviews, meeting with students, meeting with parents, and sometimes school counselors.

I have two slacks from Torrid tan and pink that I've tailored so they fit properly and I'm allowed to wear dark jeans which I have a black pair of but doesn't fit the greatest.

Dress code as work is business casual.

Most of what I wear is a blouse with one of the slacks or a dress with a blazer. However not all my dresses are the quality I would like.

The new location is where it is going to be windy/raining so I can always layer and take off layers when I'm inside.

But anyone have suggestions where I can find nice business meeting dresses, business blouses (looked a bit at Lane Bryant), also good slacks? Thinking about going to men's wearhouse post move.

Normally my outfits have themes because of all the patterns on the print and thankfully in my new role can still be encouraged. Which I know i can accomplish with just accessories and monochrome colors. Just hard to find things without print.

I'm a 2x-3x for top and 4x-5x bottoms.

Help a girlie out!

Thank you!

Moving/Need recommendations for spots

Hello there Reddit!

I was able to live in Monterey back in 2013 and I'm excited that life has worked out that I'm moving back. I had the opportunity to go visit last year and enjoy the beautiful aquarium and a few other things, but I'm looking for more permanent recommendations. Also, Still looking for a place to rent but that's another issue for another post.

Since I know that there has been a few changes post lockdown

Here are my questions

  1. Anyone have a dentist they really like from this area?

  2. Where are your date night spots for the older crowd? (30-50s)

  3. Does emo night/concerts happen up here and if so where?

  4. Besides carmel by the sea and cannery row, do you have other favorite places to recommend?

  5. What Asian markets are there to shop for groceries?

  6. Any special meat markets recommendations? I don't remember where it was. I know it was somewhere in Sand City but there was a really awesome Hispanic meat market But also made really great burritos closish by CSUMB.

  7. Favorite place to get a burrito?

  8. Favorite place to get ramen?

  9. Favorite place to get sushi either by the roll or all you can eat. Never been a big fan of the revolving sushi bars since the quality is a little bit lower.

  10. Favorite vegan spots to eat

  11. Favorite game spot? Where you can play or hang out? I know when I lived up there there was somewhere that did magic the gathering tournaments and a few board game nights but I don't remember where it was.

  12. Favorite bars for cocktails and favorite bars for beers like Guinness, blue moon, red trolley, ect? Anything that has alternatives to IPA, I'm okay with IPA. I just can't have be the only option since its not preferred.

  13. I do plan on getting a Monterey aquarium pass, probably two since there's two of us and so we can go without the other if we want. When is the best time to buy a pass and what are the best deals out there?

  14. Favorite tattoo shops. I'm sad I'll have to goodbye to my favorite artist. I'm working on a cutesy Halloween leg sleeve with some colorful pokémon and the front being some really awesome black and white that almost looks like watercolor.

Thanks everyone!

I'm finally writing a children's book but have no idea what to name it

Hi reddit,

A little about me, I learned on my 30th birthday that I am on the spectrum, I can function pretty indepedently so didn't think much of it beforehand. Grew up with emotionally abusive and narcissistic parents, and I wish I had a book that taught me multiple coping skills I have learned in my field (teaching in SPED for 11 years), but making it fun and accessible for all. Many have told me I need to write a book, so finally, last year, I agreed and began the process.

If you like things that are new, nods to common special interests, or want to learn a new coping skill, then happy to send some of the books for reading.

I'm open to feedback and can take criticism, but if you could do it sandwich style (something positive, something negative, something you learned/enjoyed), that would be much easier for me to process.

My biggest struggle right now is that I don't have a title for this book. How do you go about choosing a title?
