Hi all,
In the past few months I started a new sport. I’m the only woman at my club, and the only person under the age of 55 with the exception of the juniors (teenagers).

I got on well with one of the instructors there. He invited me to the national championships with him for 2 weeks, we trained together a bit, and got on well. I really look up to him. He mentions his wife a bit, usually positively.

We started texting a bit, 99% of the time about our sport. We went through a period of texting most days. There was no flirting or anything inappropriate.

However, a few days ago he sent me some photos of scenery he took whilst training, and a selfie from him (he sends selfies to everyone). I commented “do views like that ever get old?” And he responded with a photo of himself my age, with the caption “the person seems to look different in the earlier shots”. It caught me a bit off guard. Was he flirting?

We have a close friendship, get on well, hug etc. He does exhibit favouritism towards me, I’ll admit - but I am by far the most dedicated student there, and other instructors give me opportunities too.
