In this scene Olruggio sees the glowstones as just a simple contraption, nothing more. But for coco, they are the very first things that sparked her love for magic. Something that was also the base of her curiosity and passion for magic. So when she thanks him for his magic tool, he realises that what he considers as something simple was really special for her.

Maybe as time passed magic became more mundane and practical to him, but seeing Coco's eyes filled with wonder might have reminded him of his own love for magic.

All that aside......let's wish him good luck in raising his fourth daughter!
