My dilemma with survival farming games: deciding between raising animals and moving from place to place to explore everything.

I love settling a little spot, but after about a year in game, I feel like I've explored everything I am willing to from my base. Occasionally I will pack a ton of supplies and go on a several day expedition but no longer than that. So I get the urge to explore and move to a completely new spot and get to know a new area with new treasures.

But I also love having a goat farm and I don't want to say goodbye to my high generation goats but I can't bring them with me (I don't know of any way to transport large animals?).

Does anyone else have this dilemma?

If I set my respawn point with a temporal gear and then accidentally place/build something on that block, will I still respawn there?

I forgot exactly where I set it and am still in the process of building my full base 😅

Books that feel like vintage story

Hi all! I just finished reading the Book of the New Sun series by Gene Wolfe, which I picked up because It seemed like it had a vintage story vibe - and it does! Its a atmospheric masterpiece, a melancholic dying earth science fantasy, adventure through decaying architecture, with underground monsters and ancient technology. Theres even a major character named Jonas who is more knowledgable about the advanced technology!

Anyways, I am looking for suggestions for other books that feel like vintage story for my next read! I just think vintage story has such a good vibe and super interesting lore!

travel sleeping conditions

random thought - and I know theres a lot of realism stuff that can't all be addressed - but do you guys ever think about how in this game we can just plop a bed down in a rain storm and sleep anywhere? I sort of wish there was a valheim type system where you need a roof / some comfort level mechanic for resting. I always feel so silly when I'm on a journey and night falls and I can just sleep in the pouring rain :p
