Anyone else feel like they're losing control of their hands?

Hi all

I've been diagnosed about 3 years, but recently I've noticed my dexterity taking a nose dive, it's been somewhat subtle just stuff like making more typos but tonight I threw a piece of cookware across the kitchen, it's like I just let go while I was moving.

I get really shaky if I do any sort of strenuous activity with my hands/arms too, but recently I've just been way shakier, using a screwdriver is getting a lot harder.

I've struggled with balance issues since I first got sick, pain management isn't really happening because the NHS is God awful, but my fatigue has slowly but surely improved over time, not to where I can live a normal life but I can make it out the house these days. I'm just worried I'm going to lose the use of my hands honestly.

thanks everyone!

What none cash prizes would you like from a melee tournament?

A group of friends has been kicking around the idea of running a smash tournament (likely melee), I'm personally not a player but have the most experience running events. I'm thinking about what could be good (non cash) prizes for top 3.

we're hoping non cash as we all have vouchers or work in games where we could get a decent discount and we aren't looking to go bankrupt lol. something custom is not out the question as there's someone here who does that sorta thing.

thanks so much!

Uni never told flatmate about entrance exam, so they lost their firm choice what are my options?

Hi all,

Edit: course is Chemistry F100, the only thing they were told about the exams is that there would be one, they are required as my flatmate is coming off an access course by the look of it.

EDIT: Someone has a picture referencing that they should have been "invited for assessment" below, this is the test I am referring to

I'm staying in the UK at the moment and my flatmate is about to start uni, I'm posting on their behalf as they don't use reddit.

They had their firm choice down as uni of Liverpool and got a conditional offer based on grades and an entrance exam. They got the best grades possible, accepted their place and have been waiting for the entrance exam. they checked UCAS last night and they are down as going to a different uni and it says they declined their spot at Liverpool.

after calling uni of liverpool it turns out the entrance exam already happened and they missed it. they have no mail, no emails or anything to tell them it was happening so they had no way to know. the course doesn't start for another month but they've been planning with the expectation of going to uni of Liverpool and are understandably very stressed about this.

they called and the people one the phone weren't very helpful, just told them they missed it, after some back and forth they were given an email to try and get it sorted but haven't had a response yet.

i'm just wondering if theres anything else they should be doing? it seems really unfair that they'd miss their firm choice when they haven't had a single bit of communication about the exam.

thanks everybody.

Now powered! - Rubber key zx spectrum

Hi Everyone!

I posted here about a rubber key spectrum I came across that had unfortunately been powered by the wrong polarity plug, everyone who commented was a big help! I changed the 5v voltage regulator (connected to the heatsink) and now I am actually getting power and even video!

as you can see the video is leaving a little to be desired so I'm back here asking if this is something common.

soldering and all that sort of stuff is totally within my power, I just don't work on these really so I'm lacking the knowledge!

thanks so much !

No power - rubber key zx spectrum

Hi all, I do some repairs in my spare time and I recently found a rubber key zx spectrum that seems to not power on at all. Now the power cable with it is not original and appears to be center positive, it's my understanding that the spectrum is center negative for the psu so I'm thinking that might have something to do with the issue.

I work with retro electronics but haven't got a ton of experience with these older computer systems so I'm just wondering if anyone has some advice on where to start, I'm hoping a fuse has been blown somewhere along the way and it's a simple fix.

Thanks so much!
