Why Underarms May Need More Than Just Washing (and What Actually Helps)

I used to think if I just washed well the smell would be gone. Turns out it’s not that simple.

Sweat itself is mostly odorless. The smell comes from bacteria on your skin breaking down the sweat. If those bacteria are still there or the area stays moist, the odor comes back pretty quick especially in hot weather.

A few things that make it worse:
• Not drying completely before getting dressed
• Using only deodorant (it mostly covers smell) instead of antiperspirant (which reduces sweat)
• Synthetic shirts that trap heat and moisture
• Applying product while the skin is still damp
What seems to work better:

  1. Wash with regular soap or an antibacterial one
  2. Dry the underarms fully (pat dry, dont just wipe)
  3. Put antiperspirant on only when the skin is completely dry
  4. Wait a minute or two before putting your shirt on
  5. Wear cotton or other breathable fabrics when possible

A lot of people also say applying antiperspirant at night works better becuz you sweat less while sleeping so it has time to actually do its job.

Anyone else dealt with this? What finally helped you?

36F looking for easy, low-pressure chats 🙂

I’m a married 36F looking for some casual conversations, nothing heavy or high-pressure. Happy to talk about whatever: random thoughts, daily stuff, hobbies, or just shoot the breeze.
If you’re also in the mood for light, friendly chats, feel free to say hi :)

36F looking for casual chats I’d like some easy, low-pressure conversations.

’m 36, Life feels pretty quiet lately and I’d like some easy, low-pressure conversations.
Nothing heavy or weird just normal talks about everyday stuff, random thoughts, music, shows, or whatever comes up. I’m a good listener and don’t mind if the chat is slow.
If you’re around the same age and also feel like talking sometimes, feel free to message.

36F and still feel lonely most days

I’m 36. On paper my life looks fine, but most days I just feel alone.
I don’t really have deep conversations with anyone anymore. Everything feels surface-level. Days go by with the same routines and not much real connection. I miss feeling like someone actually wants to know what’s going on in my head.
I have a few friends, but everyone’s busy with their own lives. I end up scrolling a lot and waiting for someone to reach out first, which rarely happens.
I don’t even know what I’m looking for by posting this. Just wanted to say it somewhere. Feels strange being this lonely when you’re not “supposed” to be.
Anyone else feel the same way?

How do I find or start a community about my passion on Reddit? (coming from Facebook)

I’m new to Reddit and still figuring things out. On Facebook I was really involved in groups about my passion and kind of miss that community feel.
I’m not sure how Reddit works for this. Should I just search for existing subreddits first, or is it better to create my own? And if I do want to start one, how does that actually work?
