I've been using Clorox Wipes for 20 Years for underarm body odor. It's great. It disinfects and kills bacteria and smells caused by sweat throughout the day.

How do I properly use PanOxyl 10% Acne Foaming Wash for body odor?

Hi! I recently bought the PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash 10% Benzoyl Peroxide after seeing a lot of people recommend it for body odor.

- For those who use it, how exactly do you apply it?
- Which areas do you use it on (underarms, chest, back, etc.)?
- How long do you leave it on before rinsing?
- Do you use it every day or only a few times a week?
- Do you apply deodorant afterward?
- Any tips to get the best results or avoid irritation?

Tips for armpit sweat when wearing dress shirts

Hi guys! I’m starting my first post-grad full time job soon, and am worried about looking unprofessional because of armpit sweat when wearing dress shirts. Whenever I wear a dress shirt I’ll eventually have sweat under my arms without fail (in the winter too), and even when wearing polos and tshirts. Idk how normal this is (since these types of shirts are kinda tight), but I’m starting my first full time job soon and I don’t wanna be self conscious about it.

I’ve been looking into undershirts for work, but appreciate any other tips you guys might have for me. Thank you!

is there something I'm missing when it comes to staying fresh after work?

I work in an office, so I'm not doing anything physically demanding, but by the end of the day I never feel as fresh as I did in the morning. I shower every morning, wear clean clothes, use deodorant, and brush my teeth before leaving the house. Even so, by the time I get home I feel kind of grimy, especially around my face and underarms. No one has ever told me I smell, so this could just be me overthinking it

for those of you who have figured out a routine that keeps you feeling fresh throughout the day, are there any small habits or products that made a noticeable difference? I'm not looking to cover up odor with perfume or body spray. I'd rather improve my routine if there's something simple I'm overlooking

I finally figured out why my towels never felt truly fresh

I finally figured out why my towels never felt truly fresh, even though I washed them after every few uses. For the longest time I thought it was just because my washing machine was getting old, but I eventually realized I had been using way too much detergent and fabric softener. They always smelled fine right out of the wash, but after drying off once, they'd already have that weird damp smell again. I tried washing them with less detergent and ran an extra rinse cycle, and the difference was honestly bigger than I expected. Now they actually stay fluffy, absorb water properly, and still smell clean days later.

My parents never found a way to make my brother effectively brush his teeth, shower, wash his hands, or wipe himself. Now he’s 32.

He will not brush his teeth unless we insist, and then he’ll just brush his front two teeth for about 10 seconds and call it good. I’ve watched him do this, and when asked if he really brushed each tooth and his tongue, he’ll lie and say ‘I did! I always do!’ He eats probably 4x the recommended amount of sugar per day too, and as a result has a mouth full of plaque that the dentists have to chip off in big pieces and has recently had to get rotting molars pulled out.

He will not take a shower unless we insist, and when he comes out he still reeks from head to foot of BO, pee and poop. I don’t know what he does in there but it is obviously not at all effective. He admitted that sometimes he simply stands outside the shower and sticks his head under the water briefly to get it wet so that it looks like he took a shower because he’s annoyed by our mom nagging him. It’s infuriating. He is pretty good about using spray-on deodorant, but that’s useless unless he has first gotten clean, which he never does.

He’ll put on dirty clothes after a ‘shower’ without a second thought. His clean and dirty clothes always end up mixed together. He’ll wear the same underwear, socks, pants, and shirt for a week unless we make him change. Again, what’s the use of deodorant if he just goes and puts filthy clothes on a filthy body?

He will not wash his hands unless we insist, and if we’re not standing by him and instructing him he will run his hands briefly under the water without any soap or scrubbing. He doesn’t even put his entire hand in the water, just the tips of his fingers. I’ve watched him do this so many times. ‘Are you using soap and rubbing your hands together?’ ‘Yes I am!’

He has toenail fungus from wearing the same socks all the time and his toenails are huge and orange and have now grown over and around his toes.

And the worst, and hardest to enforce now that he’s 32, is never wiping. He simply does not wipe. He pees/takes a BM and immediately stands up and puts his underwear back on.

He is intelligent, sociable, charismatic, and I believe fully capable of doing all of these things if it was enforced early, which obviously it was not. Now he’s 32, I’m 27, they’re in their late 60’s and we’re all frustrated. He gets defensive and angry whenever we try to address these things. He has had many violent outbursts over the years and on some level we are all a little bit afraid of him. He still lives at home. My parents deserve better than this, so does he!

Any advice for me, for my parents?

*I do not live at home anymore but I visit often enough to witness what I’ve described, and I talk to my mom often and she fills me in on his daily hygiene struggles*

my bf says i smell musty down there

me and my bf have been dating for 6 months. over our 6 month relationship, i have given him head a-lot, even ignoring the musky scent he has because i know its just a penis and its not going to smell like nothing. sometimes, he’ll try to finger me or eat me out, but will stop and say i smell musty, or like a boys locker room down there. this has really hurt my confidence. i take showers everyday, i wash the outside of my vagina with dove un sensitive soap, and spray whole body deodorant on my creases and folds and even put on a little witch hazel to keep it fresh. ive told him that maybe its just my discharge that makes it have a musty smell when i get wet, but he just tells me im coping.

is there anything i can do to improve it, i know for a fact that i dont smell but he says im blind to it.

what's one hygiene habit you started way later than everyone else?

i recently realized there are a bunch of hygiene habits that people seem to assume everyone already knows, but nobody ever actually teaches you. for me, it was cleaning things like my phone, earbuds, and water bottle way more often than i used to. what's one hygiene habit you picked up as an adult that made you think, "how did i not know this sooner?"

This is embarrassing to admit…

So I live somewhere where my neighbor is so close that they can hear me especially if I come home from work late at night. This makes me too anxious to use a blow dryer past a certain time because I do not want to wake them up. I have to take a shower after work though and I have to wash my hair…
I never really had problems smelling due to air drying my hair until now…
My hair is starting to smell musty and I absolutely cannot tolerate it. I have tried putting tea tree oil and letting it sit. I did the same with apple cider vinegar.
I don’t want to cut my hair short to fix this problem..I have long hair and never really had it short.
Does anyone have any recommendations like a really quiet hair dyer, hair mask, etc.? Or should I just cut it and deal with it?
I would be absolutely embarrassed if my coworkers smelt my hair and think I smell.

How do you know of your are smelling bad ? because one cannot feel own odor.

I shower twice , mostly and even use perfumes but still people say after few hours that I am smelling bad , obviously not everyone points that out but when they do I feel bad despite maintaining pure hygiene.

what's something people overdo in the name of hygiene?

i've noticed a lot of people seem to think cleaner is always better, but sometimes it feels like people go way overboard.

whether it's showering multiple times a day, using way too much soap, disinfecting everything constantly, or replacing products way sooner than needed, i'm curious where people draw the line.

what's one hygiene habit you think people overdo, and why? did you used to do it yourself or has your opinion changed over time?

What's something most people do incorrectly?

I've been trying to improve my hygiene routine, and one thing I've learned is that doing something regularly doesn't necessarily mean you're doing it the right way. For example, I've met people who didn't realize towels need to be washed more often than they thought, or that gym clothes shouldn't sit damp in a laundry basket all day. It made me wonder what other "normal" habits people are accidentally doing wrong. i'm not looking to judge anyone i'm just hoping to learn a few things I might be overlooking. 😊
