I turn 40 tomorrow and I'm in my feelings

I didn't expect this. I've always enjoyed getting older, I have a lot more money than I did in my 20s and love that I get to see my kids grow. Lately I've felt that I'm going through a midlife crisis...marriage is fine but boring, job is stressful but rewarding and I'm making good money, my kids have some minor issues (like all kids) but things are good. For some reason I just feel off.

I think what's getting to me is the fact that I am finally accepting that I don't have forever. Half of my life is now behind me. There isn't that much time to change things. If I wait 5 years to decide my marriage sucks and I want something better, that's 5 years of my physical prime I'm throwing out the window. I'm feeling a little paralyzed by the fact that if I want to make a major change, I don't have as much time to do it as I used to.

I am self-aware enough to know I'm probably overreacting, but did any of you go through this? Any words of wisdom that can maybe get me to feel less pity for myself tonight would be appreciated.

Is it too soon to say this is Paul's best album since Tug of War?

I wanted to take a few days to marinate on my thoughts about the album. I liked Days We Left Behind, it's not in my top 50 McCartney songs of all time but that's more because he's so goddamn prolific. Then when the album came out...wow. All of the songs are really good! I don't think there's a stinker on the album. My least favorite song is probably Home To Us, but it's not a bad song by any means, I just like every other song that much. As You Lie There, Mountain Top, Come Inside, and Never Know are great songs, and the rest are really solid and pretty much all growing on me. A few of the songs I wasn't in love with, but none of them I disliked, and I can tell that Life Can Be Hard, Ripples in the Pond, and Lost Horizon are growing on me after each listen. I didn't even mention Salesman Saint and Momma Gets By, two songs that are considered highlights of the album by many and ones that I haven't quite formulated an opinion on yet - - but I do feel as though I'm going to really like them after a few more listens.

I loved Chaos and Creation, but I think this one is better overall when you factor in all the songs. I like Flaming Pie, but in my opinion it had a bunch of filler that doesn't compare to the bottom of this album. If this album had Paul and Linda in their prime recording, it would be one of my 2 or 3 favorites that Paul ever released. I'm in love!
