Smaller or bigger presets for better quality? When does a preset become "bloated"?
My preset (you might know it as Writer's Block) can be big as it take around 6-9k~ tokens. I heard that range is bloated for a preset but I like the results. So I've been tinkering with it, keeping in mind of the size and I have two routes/ideas for its new version.
Route 1 is my current WIP. It's a version with slimmed down prompts but, I added more prose and style guidelines. It still uses around 6-7k tokens however I still gotta test how well the AI will follow the new instructions.
Route 2 is to slim down the preset all across the board without adding anymore big things. I'll replace the current prompts with something snappier and consolidate to reduce token size to possibly get it around mid 5k or lower but I heard thats still big and bloated, and the less detailed prompts might affect the quality of the responses.
I try to make sure my instructions are direct and don't contradict each other by feeding everything to Gemini and asking for any corrections.
The feedback on my public preset Writer's Block so far has been positive but I want some more technical advice.
Basically, does size matter? Should I even care about preset bloat? My life's gonna get busier so I want only the best quality whenever I use SillyTavern.
