Chopped the Gummy, grafted LW caespitosa and Monassa Blue aka Bart
The absolute fattest cut in my collection. Had to cut due to some unexpected bills.
Will be getting phytosanitary certificate, and hitting the auction at r/sanpedrocactusforsale
Good evening everyone, posting in hopes of finding someone who is able to cast a custom piece for me. Please let me know if this format isn’t allowed or if I can get referred elsewhere to have it made.
I am offering this scrap silver in exchange for a reputable and experienced silversmith to cast this ethiopian cross pendant I was gifted.
I also ask is the original plastic pendant is returned unharmed, and the cast silver can be toned and buffed in a way so the dots and streaks are translated onto the cast.
Items I will include:
-80% silver fork, 43 grams (this is what I want it to be cast from, whatever is unused from the cast can be kept as well)
-2001 Ex-colorized 1oz ASE
-1942 half crown
Please let me know if you have any questions, I am open to possibly adding more silver if need be.
Thanks for looking.

I will be randomly picking on August 8. No payment required.
Thanks for looking and have a blessed day 🙏🌵✝️
Around this time next year I plan to buy an E39 M5. It has been an absolute dream since I lost my 540i/6 a few years ago.
I’m doing research about maintenance and things to look out for while buying; other than rod bearings, vanos, tires, clutch and the usual BMW stuff going out, anything else to look out for?
I am able to do some basic work on it, and also have a reputable mechanic as a neighbor. I don’t mind a rougher one with high miles as long as it doesn’t blow up on the drive home. I plan to drive it a few days out of the week.
Budget it 25k USD but prefer to keep it around 20.
Gotta post the L’s I take while growing too.
Water pooled at the top of my Neel mother plant and started a small spot of rot I initially wasn’t concerned about. After making a small cut, I found it almost went to the base and nearly killed the entire plant.
Hoping she can recover from this aggressive chop🤞
My current favourite peruvianus at the moment. Grows super blue and notchy.
Grown from GH5 Matucana seeds, this plant stood out to me and was named Neel, meaning sapphire blue in Sanskrit.
This is my first offering of the plant, and will likely be the only until my plant flowers.
Asking 50 for the tip, and 35 for the mid. Both cuttings are flawless and already calloused.
Pickup in North Delta/New West BC or shipping available for $26.
Thanks for looking 🙂
Got a city parking ticket in BC with a washington vehicle. I know not to worry about private lots, but should I pay the $85 city ticket or ignore it since i’m out of country.
TIA

I often get asked how to graft cacti. This is my method I’ve been using for 6 years and have had a 100% success rate. Not one graft I did with this method had failed and it works for any cactus.
The important factors for a graft taking include making sure the rootstock and scion are plump, using a very sharp blade to prep the contact surfaces and sanitizing everything in between. You don’t need mushrooms growing level sterility, but ensuring that your blade is clean will make sure your graft doesnt rot from the inside out.
I’ve made this guide step by step, if anyone has any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer.
You will need:
-Rubbing alcohol (I used hand sanitizer)
-A clean towel
-A bread knife for crude cuts, doesnt need to be fancy
-A sharp, straight and clean razor
-Rubber bands
-Scissors or a nail clipper
-Thick garden gloves
1: SELECTION: Select your scion and stock. Here I have chose Rauhocereus riosaniensis and stenocereus hystrix as the scion (the part that grows on top) and home depot grandiflora as the rootstock. This works for any scion, and other good stocks are pilosocereus, trichocereus PC, and myrtillocactus, but any fast growing columnar would work.
2: ROOTSTOCK PREP: Begin by sanitizing your bread knife and cutting the top of your rootstock. This step doesnt need to be pretty or as clean as the later steps. Use gloves and stabilize the top or side of the plant while you saw off the top. I find 1-2 inches below the top works best as you will have to shave more material off later as well.
3: ROOTSTOCK CRUDE CUTS: Bevel the edges around the top of the cut rootstock, using the bread knife. Make sure the skin is not involved in the graft surface; when it dries, it may contract and push your scion off. These are your last crude cuts on the stock.
4: SCION CRUDE CUT: Sanitize your bread knife or razor and make a crude cut on your scion. It doesn’t need to be very large, but if using a mid cut, ensure the top is calloused. Having both fresh cuts on the end of the scion can be stressful on the plant.
5: SCION PREP: This step may not be needed if your scion isn’t too spiky. If it is, use scissors or nail clippers to remove the spines. This will help make your clean scion cut.
6: GRAFT CONTACT SURFACE PREP: This is where you need to sanitize your RAZOR BLADE between each cut. Any debris between your graft surface will compromise it. Hold your razor as flat and straight as possible. Cut the contact surface of your scion, avoiding a sawing motion as much as possible. Try to cut straight down, making sure it is straight. Do the same on the rootstock. Do not touch or get any dirt/spines/debris/cinnamon(!!!) on the contact surfaces, as you will have to redo it until they’re clean. It doesn’t matter if the bevels around it have a bit of debris.
7: GRAFTING: After making sure both contact surfaces are flat and free from debris, press the scion onto the rootstock. Apply a small twist to make sure they’re no air bubbles between them. The vascular bundles (ring in the center of plant) should overlap making a venn diagram sorta deal.
8: GRAFT SECURING: Use as many rubber bands as you think you need. More pressure is better than less. If one of the contact surfaces aren’t completely flat, use enough to ensure they make full contact. Using the spines of your stock, attach the band to one side, looping it over the scion and attaching to a spine on the opposite rib. Make sure your rubber bands are secure, if they sling off and throw your scion to the ground, you’ll need to repeat step 6. It will be secure once the scion doesn’t move when you give it a little wiggle with your finger, or you see a SMALL amount of cactus juice around the scion. You’re not trying to squish the cactus into the other, but just making sure the surfacing are hugging each other enough so that they heal together. You can optionally use superglue to secure only the edges, it helps a lot with stabilizing the scion, but it is not necessary.
9: REST: Allow 5-7 days to heal. Make sure you leave them in a partly sunny area of your greenhouse or garden, with adequate airflow. DO NOT USE CINNAMON ON CACTI FOR ITS “Antifungal properties,” it’s as good as rubbing dirt on them. Sulfur also isn’t needed. Remove the rubber bands after they’ve healed and give them a good watering. New growth should start in the following weeks.
Thanks for reading! Feel free to share your grafts in the comments.
