Free tool to help my fellow outliners
Before becoming a writer, I was (and still am 😄) a developer. Because I couldn't find a good, simple, and free tool to help me, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
So here we are!
Link: mindfocuser
So! MindFocuser is a mapping chapter-based book outlines.
It gives you a visual story map for chapters, notes, locations, timelines, and images, plus a focused writing mode with rich text editing, placeholders, writing targets, session stats, typewriter focus, floating notes, markdown checkboxes, and language-aware text correction. It also supports multiple open books, project archives, search across books, light/dark mode, English/French UI, and DOCX/TXT export.
It is free for everyone to use, and your data stays completely private (all files are saved locally). It was initially made just for me, but if it can help someone else with their writing, I'll be happy.
(And I don't want to exclude anyone in our community, so it's also okay for pantsers to use it!:))
And the writing part (I really wanted a SUPER focused editor, like really minimalistic)
