Preliminary Report on the Conflict Situation with PLA in Taungtha Township, Myingyan District

(1) On May 26, 2026, at 11:05 PM, the People's Liberation Army (PLA)'s Thawng Htauk (military commander) and his group arrested and took away U Than (name changed for security purposes), a resident of Wae Laung Village, Wae Laung Village Tract, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region, without informing the local battalion, unit, or PDF.

(2) Along with U Than, they also took a car, one Yodaya 110 motorcycle, one Lawgyi 110 motorcycle, property documents, a household registration form, degree certificates, and 1,000,000 kyats in cash. U Than is a driver and an ordinary civilian, not an informant.

(3) On June 18, 2026, at 3:21 PM, PLA threatened U Than's wife that U Than would be killed on June 19th unless 20,000,000 kyats was paid, prompting her to contact the Taungtha Township PLAC office for help.

(4) On June 18, 2026, the Taungtha Township PDF delivered a letter in person to PLA requesting that U Than, who was being extorted under threat, be released within 7 days and that his confiscated belongings be returned to him. On June 19th, PLA responded in writing that they could not release him and could not cooperate.

(5) When pressed that if they intended to operate within the district they must respect existing laws, and were asked to hand over U Than — given past incidents of interference in administrative matters within NUG-controlled territory as well as this extortion incident — PLA responded only that they would report the matter to their central command and reply later.

(6) On June 22, 2026, at noon, when our side contacted PLA again, they replied that U Than had been released. U Than was found unconscious with beating injuries between Wae Laung Village and Ywar Thar Village in Taungtha Township. His confiscated belongings have not been returned as of the time of this report.

(7) After our comrades provided necessary medical treatment to U Than and handed him over to the township PLAC and PDF, they entered PLA camps that were no longer permitted to remain within the district under the agreed terms. Landmines had been deliberately planted in the sleeping quarters of our comrades, resulting in 4 comrades being killed by the mines and many more wounded.

(8) This is the preliminary report. Further incidents reported by the public concerning PLA will also be announced in due course.

"Ask any trainee — we said we'd run at the first chance. Die trying, or reach the front line and die there anyway."

Ko Zaw Oo (ID: 2026993), who was forcibly conscripted into the terrorist military while riding as a passenger and threatened at gunpoint, has now linked up with the People's Defence Force (PDF) and defected. He has escaped a life of being used as a human shield on the front lines to die for Min Aung Hlaing family's ever-growing greed and profit.

The full interview — covering the military's forced conscription of innocent civilians, and the situation of the majority of soldiers who joined out of fear of weapons but desperately want to escape — will be published on the People's Defence Force facebook page.

In Salin Township, Magway Region, the Township People's Defence Force (PDF) returned on June 3rd to provide a second round of assistance to fire victims and displaced civilians from two villages that were burned down by the terrorist military.

Each of the approximately 130 households affected by the arson carried out by the Military Council's troops received 2 pyi of rice, clothing, and 10,000 kyats, along with words of encouragement.

"Doing what is right is far more difficult than doing what is wrong.

But in the end, it is those who do what is right who will succeed."

— Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

Just as Amay Suu said — Continuously contributing your hard-earned money for the victory of the revolution at this critical turning point in the nation's history is far more difficult than simply living on one's knees under a military dictatorship.

That is why all members of the SCF team deeply and sincerely respect and take pride in every supporting citizen, both inside and outside the country. In the end, it is the revolutionary people who will surely succeed. Let us continue to march forward together.

An Elevated Formation and the Right Process

While global affairs are intensely active, Myanmar's situation is no less so — it is alive with interesting news, interviews, movements, and battle reports, all of which are signals of how Myanmar's political balance of power is shifting. The military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing is on one hand calling for peace while on the other fiercely waging war. A military lobbyist calling himself Dr. Aung Myo — who previously gave anonymous interviews too timid to be named — was seen saying this is normal, and that peace talks only come to the table when military advantage is achieved. In another interview with Ko Thate Khway Naing, a Myanmar scholar based in Thailand stated plainly that the junta's calls for peace are not genuine desire for peace, but a process to whitewash their crimes and present a favorable image internationally.

Calls for peace have occurred several times since military rule began after 1962, and not once have they led to resolution. What they produced were divisions, splits, and fractures within some revolutionary forces as the military played them against each other. When elections were held, power was never truly transferred — history is full of evidence of power being taken back. Moreover, based on available information, this round of SAC peace overtures is the most hollow of all — done only under pressure from China, while they apparently believe they can simply crush the opposition when they think they have the upper hand. That is why in the military lobby Aung Myo's interview, he claimed that revolutionary forces rise rapidly and fall just as rapidly, citing recent mass surrenders as evidence. This is simply someone who has convinced themselves of a fabricated narrative. Rapid collapses have happened before — in the CPB and among other ethnic armed groups — but those occurred when the revolutionary organizations themselves adopted wrong policy lines. It was self-implosion without the enemy having to fight. It doesn't happen merely from ordinary mistakes or the betrayals of individuals or small groups. Those losses came from choosing the wrong strategic path — the peace path, the surrender path — not from being defeated by the enemy.

The current moment is one where each revolutionary organization has accumulated rich experience and is no longer likely to fall into strategic errors. They know the military inside and out. From the mistakes of the CPB, the People's Volunteers, and the KNU, through the mistakes of the post-88 period — all the lessons and conclusions are already there. What is one step higher now is that the NUG and EAOs have been able to form a unified military and political coalition. While the SAC clique continues going in circles on the Than Shwe path, the NUG and EAOs have been able to step up to a higher level of formation. Military lobbyist Aung Myo made a particularly outdated observation, claiming the military excluded the NUG from peace talks because two lions cannot share one den. This only reveals that his 88-era mind has failed to keep up with the revolution's advancement — remember when the youth were protesting and said "your mindset is 88, ours is 21"? If the NUG is a medium-sized lion, SCEF is a large one — and with more forces yet to join, it will only grow stronger. They won't be sharing a den; they'll be driving out the treacherous rogue lion. We can already see SCEF's diplomatic activities in Canada, and even more effective engagements in relations with ASEAN and China are yet to come. The SAC — which harbors deep internal anti-Chinese sentiment — jumped at the faintest gesture from India (not even a state-level reception) like a starving man spotting food. Whether they get turtle eggs or snake eggs from that remains to be seen. What both China and India need to come to understand is that only forces like SCEF can genuinely deliver border stability and mutual national interests — and our formations have now risen a level. The practical processes to go along with that are also beginning to emerge, as this analysis has sought to convey.

He tried to escape from the training camp, endured two months of shackling and daily beatings

Ko Nay Myo Tun (personal number PVT-20204000), who was trafficked and forced into the terrorist military, attended military service training cycle 22 and was sent directly to the front lines. When the forced conscription law disguised as military service was first enacted, the terrorist military stated that conscripts would not be sent directly to the front lines. In reality, they are sent to the front lines as soon as training is completed.

Forcing young people — none of whom are the sons, daughters, or relatives of those in power — into human-wave offensives and onto the front lines by force, luring them with drugs, treating human lives as worthless and forcing them to fight to the death, and abandoning bodies wherever they fall without any effort to return them to families — these are all atrocities routinely committed by the terrorist military. What is most heartbreaking for these young people is that those being conscripted are only ordinary working-class youth — not those connected to military circles or those who support and enable the terrorists.

Ko Nay Myo Tun, upon reaching the front lines, was quickly able to make contact with the People's Defence Force (PDF) and defect, and has now reached a safe liberated area. You can now watch this video to hear how he was conscripted, what he went through, and what difficulties he faced when escaping.

Only by defecting and finding refuge in the people's embrace will conscripts survive.

KNLA And PDF Secures Crucial Military Outpost

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and its allied People's Defence Force (PDF) have achieved a significant victory by seizing a crucial military outpost from the junta regime, which had been established for two decades and protected by a force of 80 personnel in Myeik township, Tanintharyi region of Myanmar.

The outpost, known as Kyauklungyi, was occupied by the Light Infantry Battalion - 433 of the junta army. The successful operation resulted in the loss of many junta soldiers, with several others captured. Also, a substantial cache of military weapons, ammunition, and equipment was acquired.
