Is Jiro Horikoshi love selfish?

I watched The Wind rises, animation, sound, story everything is on place like always with sudio ghibli. The thing that was unsettling to me is love story between Jiro and Naoko. She's leaving her only chance of life so she can be with her beloved, sweet yes, but it wouldn't need to happen if Jiro was ready to pause his work for her. She sacrificed her life for him, while he couldn't even stop smoking in room where she was. He wasn't ready to leave his work and be close to her while she's in hospital. She would wait for him late while on death bed for him to come home and work. It may be that im too european to understand japanese work culture. Is it intentional or is it supposed to be romantic?

Shoud i keep my sunscreens in the fridge?

It's very hot in my area, and we don't have ac so rooms get even hotter. My sunscreens spoiled in just few days. I bought some expensive snail cream, out of fear i put her in the fridge. Is that safe?

Tips for dead point shoes

Hi guys, i have only one week till the show, and my point shoes sre dead. Box will survive but shank is really dead. In my city we only have few shops, but currently since it's the end of school year there's nothing for my feet or in my size. It's really hard to dance in them and i can see that my shank now is just an oblique line.

Gilded age raised my standards so high, and now i cannot find anything to watch. I'm history student so i like good oeriod drama, with accuracy, good script, good costumes, deep character, but everything after Gilded age doesn't fit the standard...

Making 80s bustle dress more proper for day wear?

This is my second post on similar topic and im so sorry for that. 70-80s were always something i didn't really enjoy, but it seems that my frontal lobe developed and i have need to have at least one or two dresses. Only problem is the bustle! I don't mind being different with my clothes since i already dress in edwardian fashion, and im not only one to do it in my uny but full bustle would be too much even for me. Any idea how to make dress like this with minimum of the bustle? I saw that some 80s dresses looks like they almost have none. Amy recommendations what to do to in the same time stay in some historical accuracy (not fully of course).

I wanted to share this Portrait i found in Belimarkovich castle. It is a portrait of Jovan Belimarkovich. In terms of fashion it is really interesting portrait. Serbia at through its history was in between two worlds european Austrouhungary and Oriental Ottoman empire. After Ottomans were expelled from Serbia, cultural reform began, which included fashion. Women would dress in fashionable siluets influenced by English and Germans but they would often wear Libade over them mixing bith worlds.
