Hi guys! I’m a complete beginner who got incredibly lucky after a random conversation with a stranger.
I bought my first bonsai on Saturday morning a Red Montezuma Swamp Cypress. Later that afternoon, while I was waiting in line at Bunnings with some gardening supplies, an older gentleman noticed what I was carrying.
He asked what kind of plants I had, and I told him I’d just bought my first bonsai from a local nursery. After chatting for a while, he mentioned that he was moving to the other side of the country and couldn’t take his bonsai collection with him. He kindly offered to let me come and have a look to see if any of his trees caught my eye.
I ended up choosing three trees, and I might go back in the next few weeks to get another one because I ran out of money after diving into this new hobby!
Could you guys help me identify what species they are?
I’d also really appreciate any care tips for them. I’m located in Queensland, Australia.
