Baby more aggressive than usual
I've got a beautiful baby murray darling carpet python that I've had for about two months now. I think she's approximately 6 months old, so just a little tiny girl.
It's coming into winter here (South Australia) and she's been spending a lot more time in her warm hides as I expected, but recently when I do see her she's been quite defensive - tracking my movements and once trying to strike me from behind the glass. I feed her a pinky mouse once a week using metal tongs and she's never had any trouble eating. Usually she is quite active and friendly, has never tried to strike me before.
Do I need to go up to fuzzies? Wondering if maybe because she's hiding more at the moment that she feels more vulnerable when she comes out? Or perhaps could she be too cold? At the moment she just has a heat mat, no globe but the terrarium is in a position under a window that gets direct sun for 1-2 hours a day.
Or is she just moody? lol
I've never owned a snake before, and just want to make sure I am doing all the right things. Thanks :)
