New carpet python owner, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Hey guys! I just purchased a jungle carpet python. I know if it's a full jungle it'll be between 5-7 feet, humidity is 50-60%, hot spot of mid 90's, gradient the rest of the enclosure into the 70's.

Iv got a yearling. Planning on putting him in a 4 x 2 x 2 until he outgrow it, then throw him into a 6 x 2 x 4 minimum. My main ask is: please dump your experiences on me with these pythons. If bioactive is the dumbest thing you've ever heard with this species, tell me (I won't listen but yk). If my setup sounds whack, tell me. What setups do you guys do? I use grow tents for my snakes.

Customers so bad I genuinely thought abt quitting while talking to her.

She comes in asking about the largest and thickest piece of plexi we have. I tell her straight up I cannot cut that on my machine due to the work area size. She flips her lid immediately asking why we even sell it, I've had it done here before (5+ years ago when it was in a different spot) and that I need to cut it for her. Im immediately annoyed and tell her fine, I can try, but if it's cut incorrectly Im not redoing it. She agrees and goes home to check her measurements and I tell management this lady is going to be an issue.

She circles back, I again try to explain the machine issue but she insists. So we jam this 48 by 96 inch piece of plexi into the machine. It's not sitting level, the cut mark barely lines up. At the perfect moment my ds walks by and shuts down the atrocity stating it's a safety violation to cut this piece of plexi with it bending the way it is. She tries to argue but I point out the way it's sitting the court is going to be diagonal. She huffs and puffs and starts pulling out smaller pieces of plexi while we wrangle this thing out of the machine.

She starts demanding certain cuts be made on these smaller pieces and I grin and bear it cuz at least she's not trying tog et the big one cut. (not I previously explained to her after the first 2 cuts there's going to be an additional charge because this will dull the blade significantly and that we don't usually do project cuts). My manager gets called away and I'm left alone with godzilla and her quiet husband. At one point she asks for a piece cut 37 and 3/4 one way, but motions a different way. So I confirm and get it on the machine. After it's on the machine she starts berating me yet again for how disrespectful me and my ds have been and that next time they'll go to menards. I deadpan say "then go to menards next time." not the best move but it felt good saying it. It fired her up again and she starts going off about how we shouldn't even be saying that but these companies just don't care anore and blah blah blah. I look at her and say "no Lowes cares plenty. I specifically don't care." she says she's not arguing anymore and to just cut the plexi. (the thought of walking away from this woman was strong. And I should've. And if I ever see her again I will not be kind). We finish up her plexi with few other incidents and we head up front. I say "OK, so it looks like you got 6 cuts total. I'm gonna charge you for 3". And she goes "NO YOU'RE CHARGING ME FOR TWO, IT'S FREE TO CUT THEM I HALF. YOU NEVER EVEN SAID THERE WAS A CUT CHARGE" ma'am.. Only one of those did you cut in half and I literally did fucking tell you. But at this point I know I'm not going to be able to control myouth and just get rid of the cut charge "know what ma'am I truly don't care just get away from me" and I speed walk away.

If you act like this to an associate trying to help you out or save you money, go to therapy. BTW your husband looked miserable with you I hope he gets divorced from you and lives a better life.

Regretting a puppy

Does anyone else get a sense of guilt at getting a puppy? Like somehow I'm not fulfilling her needs enough? I know as she ages she will calm down and that she shouldn't overexeet herself, but I feel like my beagle just can't get enough exercise and sniffs.

She's about 9 months. Gonna be spayed soon. I take her out to a park a couple times a week and play a variety of games. Sometimes I'll spread treats around a 100 foot area, sometimes we're just running around and learning to keep her eyes on me. Sometimes it's fetch, sometimes we're learning not to engage with dogs or humans. She does great on the long lead I use.

On normal walks though with a 4 foot leash? She pulls like there's no tomorrow.

Idk. I guess Im just worried I'm not giving her enough to do. Any suggestions?

Bioactive/ecosystem questions

Hi yall, I have 9 different reptiles. 3 of which are lizard (leopard gecko, bearded dragon, and a green keeled bellied lizard). The rest are snakes.

My understanding is that I'd require a gigantic tank to truly be able to do pairs of these mostly solitary creatures. But what about other types of bugs or any sort of critter?

I feel like my tanks are boring, and lack biodiversity. Are there any bugs you guys would consider adding to a tank to spice it up a little?
