It’s a pretty sweet booklet. Aside from the front cover having a ton of scuff marks, the booklet is in pretty good condition.
The final movement in my six movement orchestral piece about six famous volcanoes scattered around the globe. This movement focuses on the infamous Hawaiian volcano Kilauea.
Fun Fact: The middle of this movement was inspired by “Spring Rounds” from Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
Piece is “Mount Pinatubo” and is based off the 1991 eruption of the volcano of the same name and is movement 3 of my “Symphony of the Volcanoes” suite. This was actually one of the first pieces for the suite, but has been pushed to the side. To me, it sounds… mid. What I’m trying to say is that it feels like it sounds too chaotic to be a volcanic eruption. And that it fits more into a video game boss fight than a volcanic eruption. What do you guys think?
Y'all know how basses are slandered for "having so many measures of rest"? Well, in my suite, I give the basses almost NO rest. And this picture (the piece is still a WIP btw. Hence the 59 measures of rest at the end) is a prime example.
The official poster for my symphony I am working on based on the six following volcanoes (and in order too): Mount St. Helens, Krakatoa, Mount Pinatub, Mount Vesuvius, Mount Tambora, and Kīlauea.
So far, Mount St. Helens and Kīlauea are finished, Pinatubo and Vesuvius are in the works, and Tambora and Krakatoa have just barely been started.
Images related. I haven’t started it yet (as I am currently working on a different symphony atm (it’s about volcanoes)), but I would love some feedback. Like, what specific instruments would you recommend I use? What other FA sub aesthetics should I use for other movements? I’d love to hear from y’all.
