Might be hard to see
Zoomed in on a picture I took in my living room, noticed my brothers cat was ever so slightly visible and it feels vaguely sinister lol
Why are the tootsies out
But he’s got the big gloved hands. Usually with the anthropomorphic characters like Sonic and Mickey they have the shoes/gloves that never come off combo, not either/or
Disgusting
Luckily I will dismember them and turn them into collage materials piece by piece
Progress!
Couldn’t remember what year Dr. Sonai was born so I looked it up and the AI overview mostly gave accurate info! The uncredited writing scandal was a hoax and he has in fact written over 400 books on just about every genre i can think of, fully on his own.
I just hope this means that the guy will finally start getting the credit he deserves for his contributions not only to literature but to the field of neuroscience.
Thought this was behind me.
So I spent most of my K-12 life speaking maybe a word or two on a good week. It’s definitely been a gradual process, but I feel that getting out of that setting has done wonders for me as an adult. I feel like my confident/authentic self carries over into different social settings more often than not.
But a super not fun thing I’ve realized is that all of that not speaking during most of my childhood has probably put me behind in some… basic learning of social skills. Most pressing of which seems to be that when I am speaking to more than 1 person, I cannot begin to fathom when it’s my turn to talk and have gotten some professional feedback lately that I interrupt folks.
I honestly feel embarrassed about it, especially since I’m going into the social work field. I want to be good at this stuff and I know I can improve, but I just feel stupid about it I guess.
Retailers pay artists to make bad music.
It’s a known fact that retailers and fast food restaurants create overstimulating and unpleasant environments so that customers don’t take the time to think about their purchases and leave to make room for more foot traffic.
What if the major retail chains are paying big artists to make the most unpleasant and lazy music possible to contribute to this. Retailers get their evil music and the artists get easy money and exposure.
I think Bruno Mars in particular is suspect. He’s had a few good songs over the years but the majority of his music is same-y uninspired droning love songs with nothing interesting to say or listen to.
Pride merch
Noticed that my store didnt even bother with a small section of pride merch this year. I’m in the central Ohio region. What about your store?
Edit: What are the downvotes on this post even about like...what are you mad at
PRESERVE OR SCRAP- vintage magazine
Are there any subreddits that might be interested in this who won’t get pissed off at me for not knowing their niche and asking noob questions?
Got the magazine (pictured in my post) the other day from a stack of free magazines at the library. I selected one randomly to look through for collage inspiration and found charming vintage imagery inside. I flip back to the cover and see ‘1986’ in the corner.
I of course got excited and immediately went to check if it was worth any money (it’s not). But I’m just not sure what to do with it now. It’s older than *me*, and I just get the feeling that I shouldn’t tear it up for my art.
What do you think? Is it worth preserving just because it’s old? Should it be treated with the same care as vintage literature and art? Do enough collectors exist for this?
Why not install more locked cases instead of wrapping everything?
I just don’t get the logic of locking entire sections of things onto a shelf or peg with individual wraps or boxes, especially since they don’t give us enough to cover everything. It’s so time consuming to wrap all of it
