The Accessibility of Pokemon Champions
Hi everyone, blind pokemon enjoyer here. Ever since I was small, I used to love watching pokemon on tv and playing the games. But, as I've gotten older and my vision's basically gone, my love of competitive has grown. About a year ago, I started playing vgc on showdown a lot and with the release of pokemon champions on mobile, I was hoping for there to finally be a screen reader accessible pokemon game that I can play.
Come release day, I downloaded the game to find that from the very first screen it was not accessible :(
I think that compared to all other pokemon games which have some elements of exploring open areas, which would need a lot of time to rework to be accessible and I understand why they aren't, pokemon champions only really needs screen reader accessibility, which I'm sure something as large as pokemon wouldn't struggle to find the time or people to do.
I'm making this post both as an awareness thing but also, does anyone know where I can further inform whoever works on the appp of this issue because I'm pretty sure they don't scroll reddit lmao and if it's even worth doing or if there's no point because they won't do anything about it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
