Calling all desi wear girlies/baddies 😭💌 Need wedding outfit HELP

Need help styling a winter wedding outfit for a petite/chubby girl 😭💌

My best friend’s big brother is getting married in December this year, so I’m trying to decide my main wedding outfit early.

My body type/details:

  • Height: 5’1
  • Body type: chubby/plus size currently
  • I carry more weight around my stomach and arms
  • I usually avoid outfits that make me look shorter or wider
  • Winter weddings suit deeper/richer colours on me more than pastels

The kind of outfit I’m thinking about:

  • velvet Anarkali suit with a fitted upper body and flared bottom
  • Kashmiri-style velvet suit with detailed embroidery around sleeves/neck
  • full sleeves or elbow sleeves because sleeveless usually doesn’t suit me
  • V neck or slightly deeper necklines instead of closed necks
  • floor-length silhouette because shorter kurtas cut my height badly
  • not too much cancan because it makes me look bulky
  • elegant embroidery/work instead of heavy mirror work

The colours I’m considering:

  • emerald green
  • navy blue
  • plum/wine
  • chocolate brown
  • BLACK (I want alternatives to maroon because everyone wears maroon 😭)

Footwear:
I’m thinking nude/golden block/ platform heels (which I have seen alia wearing alot) around 3-4 inches because stilettos are impossible for me to survive in during weddings 💀

Jewellery ideas I need help with:

  • chandbalis vs jhumkas?
  • silver vs gold jewellery with velvet?
  • should I wear a necklace or keep only statement earrings?

Hair/makeup vibe:
Soft curls or 90s blowout? smokey eyes?

I attached some inspo pics that match the vibe I’m going for. Most Pinterest outfits are either too plain or way too heavily styled, and I want something balanced and flattering for my height/body type.

Please suggest silhouettes, colours, dupatta draping styles, jewellery, footwear or even celebrity inspo 😭💌

A little about myself- Career wise, Its going awful. Im not getting into my desired work-field like a company. Depressed but still making through all of this. I never did anything which could distract me from career path but I do regret not living life like a normal human

Love- there is no lovelife . i have never been in a relationship nor liked someone this much to be in any relationship. I had a few talking stages, but only kept till this as the other person started showing diff interests so I had to stop it there. Also, there is a very conscious indian thing which my parents put in my brain that you need to get stable first and then date, even though its not something which can be controlled but it still made me feel like i was doing something wrong. So no big lovelife.

meh, I don't have any interest left now. I'm just existing at this point.

Can someone see when I will get a good-paying job this year?

Little about myself- I genuinely want to shift out of my parents' house. Im at my all time low phase. I have gained tremendous weight and im not happy w my job rn. I have been applying everywhere but it's becoming a dead-end now. I am not getting good opportunities and the one im getting ends up being removed or chooses someone else. Im depressed and this is why I m not able to enjoy anything in my life. I dont even have the right mind to seek something beyond work life. I need some guidance regarding my career.

Hi everyone,

I’m a BA LL.B (Hons) graduate from National Law University(2025) and currently working as a Legal Associate since May 2025. I’m actively looking to transition into a full-time in-house legal role (Delhi/NCR or remote preferred, but open to relocating for the right opportunity).

Over the past year, I’ve built hands-on experience in:

  • Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts (NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements, licensing agreements)
  • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and working with tools like Lexion, SirionLabs, DocuSign, etc.
  • Risk assessment and contract clause analysis (indemnity, liability, confidentiality, IP ownership)
  • Supporting cross-functional teams (sales, procurement, finance, compliance)
  • Corporate compliance and regulatory research (Companies Act, FEMA, SEBI, DPDP Act, IT Act)
  • IP and technology-related agreements and advisory

I’ve also interned with law firms and in-house teams, where I worked on due diligence, transaction documentation, SaaS agreements, and internal policy drafting.

At this point, I’m very clear that I do not want to continue in litigation and see my long-term career strictly in in-house legal roles, particularly in contracts, tech/IP, and compliance.

I’m genuinely motivated to grow in this space and would really appreciate any leads, referrals, or guidance.

Thanks in advance!
