Sick of the basic stuff, what are some quality men’s fashion brands in India

Hey guys, I’ve been scrolling and trying to find someone to quality men’s fashion pieces and I’m astray.

Every time I go through AJIO or Myntra or those generic sites, all I see is a sea of generic “fast” fashion stuff that either have bad quality materials or just too overpriced. I even bought a few pieces I returned cause of bad the quality is or how they look nothing similar to the advertised pieces.

So I’m here taking advice. Im looking for some clean and solid pieces, preferably budget friendly and wouldn’t wreck my back account(the way my financial advisors have placed my money, I don’t want to go bankrupt,jk) clean silhouettes, good fabrics and good fitting clothes.
So help a brother out and shoot down all the lesser known or hidden gem brands you like and help me out and probably some other guys that would like the help too.

All love

60-70k budget for shopping but i don't know how to divide it

I recently got a decent amount for shopping from my parents and now I'm a lil confused how to divide budget, which shoes i should buy, so my need is, jeans , t shirt/shirts, one or two good sneakers for daily college, a good fragrance

I'm not into gen rage or blueorng type fashion, more like superdry type tops/boot cut denims

So do you have any wardrobe/brands suggestion? I live in a town so I'm not exposed to much fashion

The lack of Indian fashion subcultures and what really is 'Indian fashion' ?

So recently I came across a reel in my feed (cant post the link here) regarding the comet x farak collaboration and lets just say I had some disagreements with it.

In summary the topic of her reel was how Indian men should not fall for the western sneaker hype and instead should should wear things which authentically reflect their culture or background .i.e in this context the comet x farak collab which contains traditional embroidery details etc.

My disagreements with the reel were as follows

  1. It creates a false dichotomy:
  2. Western sneaker = trend-chasing, culturally disconnected
  3. Traditional embroidery on a sneaker = authentic Indian expression
  4. The irony is while the embroidery details may reference Indian craft traditions, but the silhouette itself exists within a design language heavily indebted to the bapesta which itself is an homage to the Air Force
  5. So if the critique is that Indian men are borrowing Western sneaker culture, promoting a derivative of a derivative while calling it “authentic” feels less like cultural confidence and more like aesthetic rebranding.

This made me think
"What actually makes fashion “Indian” today?"

Too often, contemporary Indian fashion gets reduced to a very export-friendly visual shorthand: handloom, embroidery, natural dye, vibrant color, visible craft. And while brands like Kartik Research and Kardo do genuinely beautiful work (I would love to own a lot of their pieces in my dream wardrobe), they often reflect a version of India that feels curated through an outsider’s lens ; one that treats Indian identity as heritage artifact rather than lived present.

That’s not because the craft isn’t real or valuable. It is. The problem is when this becomes the only accepted vocabulary for “Indian fashion.”
Most young Indians and honestly even much of our parents’ generation don’t experience their cultural reality through elaborate embroidery and artisanal nostalgia and this is not a shade on these brands but a failure of us as a society where we are very much disconnected from our traditions.

Much of western fashion traditionally can be rooted back to aristocracy and military traditions but it has evolved through Ivy, skateboarding, hip-hop, surf, workwear, Black culture, military surplus etc.

A more relatable example would be Japanese fashion which similar to Indian culture has a deep artistic tradition but has evolved through reinterpretation and obsessive subcultural refinement to a point where there exists a subgenre of fashion which despite its roots not being japanese is distinctively japanese.

India’s fashion identity still often skips contemporary lived culture and jumps straight back to heritage.Maybe that’s the real gap.
Not that Indians are “too Westernized.”But that we still haven’t fully built a modern design language rooted in who we actually are now.
What do u guys think ?

Please message or comment here and we can discuss further.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Guys, need some fashion advice. I'm a complete noob.

So I'm 21 and i already have a well grown full beard and straight silky medium length hair. I've been told time and time again that I look super old. What do I do? Please give me ideas/advice so as to what to do with my hair and beard so I look 21 and also keep the beard and to also look fashionable and good. Also, how do I build my wardrobe? Like, how do I find good clothes, if you get what I'm tryna ask. I'm open to sharing pictures of myself as well. Thanks in advance.

Indian women — do clothes actually fit us properly or are we all just adjusting constantly?

Indian women — do clothes actually fit us properly or are we all just adjusting constantly? 😭

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2025 engineering graduate currently researching women’s fashion fit and sizing problems in India because I’ve noticed that so many women — regardless of body type — struggle with clothes fitting properly.

Not just plus-size women, but even slim, midsize, curvy, petite, tall, or women with different body proportions.

Things like:

  • jeans fitting thighs but not waist,
  • tops fitting chest but loose elsewhere,
  • “free size” not actually fitting most people,
  • western wear designed for only one body shape,
  • every brand having completely different sizing,
  • clothes looking good on models but awkward in real life,
  • constantly adjusting, layering, or compromising.

And honestly, I feel like most Indian women just silently “adjust” instead of expecting better fits 😭

I’m currently researching this space before making any decisions for a possible women-focused fashion startup, and I genuinely want REAL opinions instead of assumptions.

So I’d love to ask:

• What frustrates you MOST while shopping for clothes in India? • Which clothing category fits you the WORST? • Do you think Indian brands understand real body proportions properly? • What do you hate about “free size” clothing? • Have you stopped wearing certain styles because of fit issues? • Which brands fit you BEST currently? • If you could fix ONE thing about women’s fashion sizing in India, what would it be?

Not selling anything — genuinely trying to understand whether this is a common problem and how women actually feel about it.

Would really appreciate honest opinions, even blunt ones 😭

looking for nude stockings online! need good leads please 🙏🥹😭

What’s the BEST nude stocking/pantyhose you’ve bought online that actually looked natural on the skin?
I’m looking for something:
seamless/invisible under outfits
natural-looking (not overly shiny or fake)
good quality
hides imperfections nicely without looking obvious

Basically your best online purchase for nude stockings 😭
