I kind of use Last FM to play the "which song is your favorite" games. I figure if one has had Last FM for awhile.. their favorites will be known, that is if they primarily use their computer to play music. I just created a new account last month so my scrobbles aren't very spot on yet, takes awhile. Similar artists, for those not familiar with Last FM, is kind of accurate. I mean the Cure is like the Chameleons and Bauhaus, but Christian Death? Uh.. hrmm..

So who is having a lot of outages with Spectrum during the afternoon hours?

It seemed to start early in August between 12pm until sometimes 6pm, and they are doing calls to alert customers of the outages. The week before last was pretty harsh, last week wasn't that bad, this week its starting up again. They are crediting when I call in because they can see the reported outages, but they aren't saying what is going on.

Anyone aware of what the issue may be? I know Verizon in the 91791 had some vandals mess with the fiber, but haven't heard of the same happening with Spectrum.

The only Cure autobiography I'm aware of is the one by Lol, the rest are written by those not in the band, as far as I know.

So which one is recommended? The Lol one? If so, does it lean more on being about Lol? I'm kind of looking for one that leans more on Robert.

Before making a recommendation, be sure that it is still in print. A lot of band books are out of print or digital only. I can't read E books on the toilet.. my PC is too heavy and then I'd have to hold the monitor.. Total pita.

Anytime I play "Pick your favorite song or album" regardless of the band, people always say "Its toooo hard". But this is the mindset one has to get in.. and its not too fantasy oriented. Imagine the bombs dropped, all the radio stations were gone, the internet was gone, electricity was gone, and you only have so many batteries for your portable mp3 player, walkman, whatever. What one Cure song are you going to waste what little battery juice you have listening to?

For me its really rather easy..

Knowing is half the battle? Oh wait.. wrong cartoon.. uh.. By the knowledge of Grayskull.. yo.. He-Man.. That just doesn't sound catchy.. Whatever..

This is one of those times you don't judge a book by its cover since despite who is on the cover, they're not in the story.

The Wings Of Fate starts off just minutes before the attack with a young magician is doing magic tricks as a way to earn some money outside of the palace. As he begins his journey home, the attack begins and he comes across a mysterious falcon. What happens after is only a totally new spin for the character so many fans cherish, and the one that many wanted to see more of in the film.

The artwork is just as solid as it is in the new ongoing series, and the story telling is loyal when it comes to a few names that some may not have heard since the 83 cartoon, while making the young magician a total hero, so far. This is merely the first issue. I think its a 4 issue mini series.. so I can only imagine more of the early lore will be leaned on, while leaning on some of the newly created stuff.

The little fella with the young magician.. wasn't he a character Teela saved in the OG cartoon? The one where she falls down the pit outside of grayskull?

This isn't about who would win in a fight, even though She-Ra did seem to have more abilities. This about the two OG cartoons and which one had more substance.

In the new Stranger Things cartoon two of the characters even discuss what was going on in She-Ra in 85. I picked up the She-Ra series on Apple this week since its on sale again for 15 and I never watched many of the episodes in the 80's, so its pretty new to me. From what I'm watching, there is more going on in She-Ra. I mean book burnings, slave labor, speech being censored, which goes back to book burnings, and the politics behind rebellions. Masters, they did tackle the environment and bigotry based on appearance but I'd say She-Ra had a bit more going on.

But here is a bigger question.. Did any of you learn anything from either show when you were innocent lil children? ;) Remember.. sharing is caring..

Disclosure Day is out this week but the big US Fifa game is on Friday as well. The US is predicted to lose but many will still be at home on Friday night to watch.

I'm starting this hoping others want to discuss the new ongoing by Dark Horse, I mean so far its a banger. Starting from the beginning it was obvious Tim Seeley was going to stay true things by leaning on even the toy properties. One will see the Land Shark, and other vehicles that didn't get much, or any, love in the Filmation cartoon, some of them came too late for that.

Sword Of Flaws is the first story arc which covers the first four issues and it deals with the origin of the purple sword, the sword that didn't get any mention in the cartoon, and it is the sword of flaws. We get the story behind its history, and He-Ro, King Hiss, and others are mentioned, and sadly a key character is taken out of action due to the sword. And with that, it needs to be said, the comic is a bit more mature then the 80's cartoon, there is death. So far its been random eternian soldiers but fan favorites do get hurt.

The 5th issue is out now and it starts a new story line but picks up where Flaws left off with Adam dealing with some serious emotional damage. And once again there's toy love, you'll see one of the accessories that came with Grayskull in a panel. I mean it just shows a love for the original toys and its not surprising, Tim Seeley is the writer and he's always shown a love for Masters Of The Universe. The 6th issue is due out in August.

So those who've been reading it, what do you think so far? Where would you like to see things go story wise? Do you think Dreamworks will allow them to use She-Ra? If they are to do crossovers, who would you like to see He-Man beat up?

Its an interesting choice of songs but I have no complaints since the Cure is my favorite band, and I like me some Queen.

While it may be blasphemous to say, I do prefer the Harry Potter one since the snake head sculpt is just a bit more wicked. But Neca made the best Harry Potter figures, the sculpts were outstanding.

What do y'all think of the 2021 series? I watched the first season yesterday, it was rather short, most Netflix stuff is. There are parts I like. I like how they gave them interesting new backgrounds, I like that Skeletor came off more menacing, and I like the pace of the action. What I don't care for is how all of the episodes are part of one story, I'd have preferred a bit of variety with different story lines, like the 80's cartoon. But since Netflix is obsessed with uber short seasons.. I guess that's how it goes. Stranger Things could have used more episodes and more side stories rather then always being about the Upside Down but such is life.

Teela would have to be my fave.. she reminded me Kitty Pryde from the 80's.. not because of her powers obviously, but her attitude.

Apple/Itunes has all three seasons of the 2021 Netflix series of Masters now, they didn't before as far as I know.

The down side, its titled "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe" so it gets put under the same icon as the 83 series. So the episodes get put together as episode 1 and episode 1, etc, and so on. Autoplay figures it out and goes from 1 to 2 rather then 1 to 1 to 2 to 2 but its still messy. Apple needs to rename the series "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe (2021) in order to separate the two. So just a heads up..

I picked up most on clearance but paid 3x the price for Skeletor since I guess he's from the first wave, and most from that wave are hard to come by like Man At Arms and Beast Man. I may get one or two more. I'm thinking Orko or She-Ra even though she's out of the MOTU loop now that Dimension owns her. Not sure if I'm posting this because it keeps asking for flair and I have no clue what flair is. 😛

I wasn't aware that the 28th was MOTU day until last month, but I wasn't aware that the 26th was Aliens day.

Watching the 83 cartoon and trying to figure out how his own parents didn't know that He-Man was just their son with a tan?

Watching the 87 film and wondering how it all went so wrong?

I may watch the movie again, maybe order the Skeletor from the movie line, dig the head sculpt and the cape..
