Revolutions by Mike Duncan is a perfect companion to Victoria 3

Hey all, wanted to give a suggestion for people who want a digestible way to learn more about the Victoria 3 time-period. Revolutions by Mike Duncan covers a large variety of historical revolutions (from the English Civil War to the Russian Revolution) as well as one speculative fiction Martian revolution.

For things more directly relevant to Victoria 3's timeframe, I recommend starting at season 3, the French Revolution, and ending at 10, the Russian Revolution. The English Civil War and the American Revolution do matter to the Victorian era, but happened far enough in the past to be optional in my mind.

This came to mind as I regularly see people here confused at how strong the Revolutions of 1848/Springtime of the Peoples modifier is, particularly in how many revolts spring from it. To me, this seems like a disconnect between the historical narrative of 1848 as a failure with the actual scale of the revolts. 50 countries in Europe faced significant revolts, and nearly every major European nation experienced some kind of revolt.

Assorted Space Race Gushing

I've been following TNO for a long time (since shortly before release) and I'm in love with the decision to keep Apollo the exact same as it was IRL. It's tempting in a German-victory scenario to essentially turn the German space program into a copy of our world's American one, largely because of popular misconceptions about Operation Paperclip and the scale therein. It should never be said that the contributions of these ex-Nazis were unimportant, mind, but to give an idea I'll begin listing elements of Apollo designed primarily by non-Nazi engineers:

There is a more compelling case that the Saturn program would not be developed with von Braun, but similarly specc'ed heavy lift launch vehicles would have been developed regardless. You could also argue a "Saturn V-like" vehicle (named something else) would still exist.

All this is to say I deeply appreciate the dev team's choice to stick with Apollo. I'm thinking about current TNO's "the Germans just do Apollo early" or Man in the High Castle's similar premise and how annoyed those made me lol. They work for a raw emotional shock, but aren't particularly realistic

Also I'm so excited for future reveals for Germany' and Japan's space programs. My money's on Germany going for a more "airplane cockpit" capsule, where I think Japan would go for something like a scaled down TKS/VA. This post is already too long to explain those though lol.

Is there any point in starting an interplanetary burn in-Mun or -Minmal orbit?

What it says in the title. I'm thinking of lightly optimizing, since I have my main fuel processing stations in the orbit of the Mun and Minmus.
