I remember enjoying this when I was a teen. Started rereading "Suffer the Children" and I am getting the ick every few minutes.

I remember enjoying this when I was a teen. Started rereading "Suffer the Children" and I am getting the ick every few minutes.

It seems the writer has this very wierd fetish for focusing on high school genetalia and describing them as often as he can. I get that, in the OG series this is based off, it is IMPLIED he is a PD; but to make that his defining factor with the female victims is more disgusting than frightening. There is also a prime "women written by a man" moment when a young highschool girl is descending into the boiler room, gets a little wet, and she focuses on her nipples and wet tshirt contests for a bit; you know...while she is being stalked by a nightmare murderer who was last scene helping to remove the face of one of her friends.

Also the way he made Freddy talk is more in line with an edgy cringelord who discovered cursing for the first time. Having Freddy say fuck, fucker, and bitch every time he talks makes him sound like someone being an edgier "Scary Terry."

Am I the outlier here? Every other review I have read for the book is glowing from the readers.

A Lizards Nightmare is written terribly

Imagine going in blindly, hearing the Red Princess is being hunted by the Black Ring. You may not have the Red Prince but you can't just let her get hurt.

You make it through the arena just fine to find the dreamers. One step closer to helping the princess.

You speak to them and get absolutely no choice but to kill them out of self defense, can't even back out of the conversation. Also worth a note that they sound very suspicious so you can feel a little extra justified.

Then you get to the princess. Oh you killed the dreamers? Well your evil and gotta die. No dialogue to explain self defense, no persuasion check. Now the princess is dead, everyone is dead, all beacuse you wanted to help and the game didnt let you do it naturally.

Why would they build a quest where, if you proceed naturally and dont have the prince, everyone would get killed unless you save scum and lock pick/pickpocket a key to a door to avoid the dreamer fight?

I am fairly deep into act 4 and have spent the money to level it up to the 19's. I love the crit boost, perpetual flight, and extra range from always having farsight on. I always kill creatures from a distance so I never really consume corpses and my magic damage is so low I rarely use the sandblast source point.

However I am wondering what I am missing out on by not finding other good armors that stack normal boosts and allow more rune slots. Am I missing out or am I right in enjoying the free flight mechanic and farsight?

THEY KEEP FIGURING IT OUT!!!!

They dont get every small detail or twists, but they enjoy randomly spitballing and they are almost always right!

In this episode they figured out the killers gimmick and what happened to the victim almost immediately as the scenes were introduced. They simply couldnt figure out how everyone was in the same room as the window scene.

Im so happy that they are having fun but i really want them to be bewildered at least once lol.
