Kaisen-don from my favorite new local sushi spot! Sushi Mori in Colorado Springs CO, fish they used for this was salmon, salmon belly, yellow tail, chi-toro, and striped jack. Fish quality was next level and the sashimi on top was some thick slabs!

A new sushi restaurant opened up some months ago and they have some fish you don’t see too often, especially not at AYCE spots. Will be going back often to try new pieces of nigiri! Here we have from bottom to top: blackhead sea bream, salmon, striped jack, red sea bream, yellowtail, and chu-toro. The 3 white fish were the ones I had the pleasure of trying for the first time! The restaurant is Sushi Mori in Colorado Springs, CO for those that are curious.

I am having trouble finding a 100% answer for this, but if one were to have the alcohol drink package for the cruise, would that drink package extend to the Royal beach club paradise island in Nassau Bahamas like it does on perfect day CocoCay and you could just get the cheaper option or even with the ship drink package you would still need the Royal beach club with alcohol option?

My local Costco for the first time (that I have seen at least) had their nigiri. I’ve heard mixed reviews about it online so I had to give it a try.

For what it is it was decent. The fish tasted good and fresh. While there was a lot of rice, the fish was pretty big slices, definitely a two bite nigiri. I just wish the form of the nigiri was a little better though as it just seemed like the fish was laid on top of the rice instead of being hand formed.

Main issue as I’m sure many others have with it was the rice. Not only was the rice clearly uniformly shaped like from some sort of press or something instead of hand formed, but the texture of the rice itself left a lot to be desired. Not to say it was bad or anything and it overall was decent as long as you manage your expectations for what it is.

Overall with the right expectations on what it is, I’d for sure have it again and $15 for 12 pieces of nigiri felt like a great deal given most sushi restaurants are charging $7+ for 2 piece nigiri. If you got a nigiri craving and don’t want to break the bank, this will for sure do the trick!

Who else loves a combination AYCE sushi/Japanese BBQ/Korean BBQ/hot pot restaurant?! Of course I make sure the sushi is the star of the show but having another Asian AYCE experience with it really brings the meal to the next level for me! What are some of y’all’s favorite parings with sushi?

I have made tonkotsu and shoyu ramen before but this was my first time trying out tonkotsu in a pressure cooker (Instant Pot) and it came out fantastic! I have two of these Ancient Mew cards that look pretty much identical and both have this “error.” The front is centering is very light and the bottom very heavy, but the bottom so much so that below the boarder of the card on the bottom there is a thin silver line on both the front and back. Would this be considered an error? Thanks for any advice!
