Need a dehumidifier, but know nothing about them.

Hey everyone. Tomorrow we are closing on our house. It has a half finished basement, and the first thing I want to do is get a dehumidifier for the basement immediately, as it’s quite moist.

I don’t know anything about basements, I’ve lived in a trailer my whole life. The house is two levels, 1,373 sq/ft above and the basement with the garage attached is 1,259 sq/ft.

The house hasn’t been lived in for a while, and I noticed the wood flooring above is raised in some areas ever so slightly. I’m hopping controlling the moisture will help with that too.

I’m not sure where to start. What the best brands are, how big of one I need, etc. could anyone lead me in the right direction?

Whatever additional information you need to help, I’ll give it. I’m just not sure what to look for.

Thanks!

What would you change about this kitchen?

We’re closing on our house on Monday. Everything is ready to go and perfect.

We’ve been planning our changes, and are stumped on the kitchen. How can we make this more cohesive and matching? Everything seems to pop out in an unsightly way. Maybe it’s the cabinet color with the granite.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just pulled this out of my ear

Went to get looked at for strep a few months ago. Nurse looked in my ear as part of the routine, then gave me a little plastic scoop and said my ear is full too.

Went home and tried it, and felt something hard as a rock. Couldn’t get good leverage on it and gave up.

Fast forward to today and I found the scoop in the medicine cabinet and decided to try again. No dice. Shoved some tweezers in there and gots a good grip.

Now I can hear in 4D in my right ear. My other ear is quieter though and I feel unbalanced.

Just playing some video games

Been at my absolute lowest lately. Started a new job I hate, and have the weight of the world on my shoulders with some other responsibilities. Waking up very morning sick to my stomach with anxiety.

Luckily my wife’s been a champ through it. Insanely lucky to have her. She suggested I just spend some time playing games tonight.

I don’t play video games like I used to, but tonight I’m sitting in the living room in the dark, drinking sodas, and shooting the shit with random people online. It’s been a great and refreshing night.
