Vernon in September

I will be coming to Vernon mid September with a friend, for a sports event, but will have a decent bit of spare time.

Both 40ish female, don't really drink much but up for a little wine or cider tasting - was trying to find other neat things to do in the area and it seems like its too late in the year for a lot of summer stuff, but too early for cool fall things haha.

Would Planet Bee and Davidson Orchards be good options to visit? Is there other hidden gems?

Heard KurSpa is great but can only use if staying there so thats out.

Any neat "hole in the wall" or local favorites for food?

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice, and I hope the fires are resolved soon for all of you living in the area. We get them in our area commonly too, they are so scary and disruptive! Thinking of you all.

Has anyone had experience with a "grown over" inner eyelid?

Kitty foster here. I have dealt with cats and kittens through a rescue for a bit over a year now - received 2 (very sweet and friendly) 8-9 month old girls about 10 days ago.

Both had a respiratory infection of some kind, I promptly got them to the vet the following day and got them on antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and dewormer. They also got their core vaccines.

They are happy, good eaters, EXTREMELY active, and have some mild loose stool (could be stress, meds, change in diet as no idea what they were eating before, etc) and the respiratory symptoms are clearing up - however the one girl's right eye is quite bad. They gave me eye drops at the vet, which I struggled to administer as there is only a tiny hole open - the rest of the eye is covered by a... film? The vet said this could possibly be corrected and opened at time of spay, but another vet who saw her said "aw poor dear that eye will have to come out".

I know cats can function fine with one eye , but I also know it would hurt her chances for adoption. I have never seen something like this before, and with the conflicting vet comments, I am not sure how to best advocate for her - whether I push to spay now and try to save the eye, or to have them consider simply removing the eye?

Being in foster, it is a bit of an odd situation where they don't have a single, primary vet that would see them consistently where I would be able to get further advice/info or ask questions like I would be able to with my own vet/pets. I would have to request and advocate for her through the rescue, and without much knowledge on this medical issue, I was hoping someone may have experienced something like this before with a "grown over" eye that I could glean some anecdotal info from - TIA!

Sit spin advice/feedback?

I've heard that often sit spins are not considered low enough to receive good marks - if course as one gets older (Im mid 40s) joints can make that harder! Started skating April, and have been working on strength and flexibility to try to get mine low enough to be "good" and Im wondering if its getting close enough to be called a decent sit spin? If not, any advice on how to improve it?
