Advice needed: Served with a Temporary Protection Order / Safety Order hearing (First time in court & very nervous)

Hi everyone,
I was recently served with an ex-parte Protection Order and a summons for a full Safety Order hearing at the District Court, coming up next week. The applicant is a family member. I strongly dispute the claims made, but to avoid giving TMI, I am mostly just looking for some general advice and to hear about other people's experiences with this process.
I have never been to court before in my life, and I am incredibly nervous about how the whole day works and what to expect.
My plan right now is to call for free legal aid today to try and get a solicitor, and I will absolutely be showing up to the court date. But I am really anxious about the "what ifs" regarding attendance.
My main questions are:
1. What happens if I (the respondent) don't turn up to the hearing?
2. What happens if she (the applicant) doesn't turn up?
3. If I do turn up, and she doesn't, will the protection order automatically be struck out and the safety order application cancelled?
Any general advice for a first-timer, or insights on how the District Court handles these attendance situations, would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

Ps my mother went and made false statements and the police came to my house monday morning and served the papers they said i dont have to go to the court date but my mother is an alcoholic and a narcissist and i know if she gets the safety order she will use it to manipulate me and have me arrested for claims she is in fear etc. so genuinely looking for any advice possible or anybody else experience in similar situations..
im
Hoping i can get free legal aid i really dont want to have to go to this court but otherwise it will be much more dangerous for me like i said she can have me arrested on a whim. For more context i havent even spoken to her in weeks and have just been relaxing watching the world cup in my room mostly. In her statement pretty much everything she said is false

Looking for a reliable IPTV provider (4K, large VOD + Live, 3-4 concurrent lines)

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in the market for a new, reliable IPTV provider and wanted to see if anyone has some solid recommendations. Here is what I am looking for:
Content: A massive VOD library (movies and TV series) updated regularly, plus a wide selection of live channels (especially sports).
Quality: Must support true 4K streaming with minimal buffering.
Connections: Need 3 to 4 active lines at once (multi-room/device support).
Price: Looking for the best price-to-performance ratio.
If you use a service that actually holds up during peak hours and offers a trial so I can test the stability first, please let me know in the comments or shoot me a DM.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on dealing with Vodafone Ireland. I'm currently an existing customer with an iPhone, but I’m trying to upgrade to the Samsung S26 Ultra on the €0 upfront deal (€65/month plan).
The website keeps glitching every time I try to check out. I suspect it’s because I technically started a port over to Sky Mobile a few days ago (which I now regret and want to cancel/stop).
Before I spend my Tuesday morning on hold to 1907, I wanted to ask:
1. Online vs. Phone: Has anyone had better luck getting a "loyalty discount" or bill credit by calling in rather than using the site?
2. Adding a Line/Porting: Since I’m already a customer, do they actually give you a better deal if you tell them you’re staying instead of porting to Sky?
3. The "Glitch": Has anyone else been stuck in "Order Purgatory" where the site won't let you upgrade? Did a phone agent actually manage to fix it and honor the €0 upfront deal?
I’m basically choosing between a 3-year "Swap" deal with Sky or staying with Voda for 2 years. I’d much rather stay if I can get them to throw in a bit of a discount for the hassle.
Any tips on what to say to the loyalty/retentions team to get a result would be massive. Thanks!

Hi everyone, looking for some advice from anyone who has dealt with Sky Mobile Ireland returns.

I’m currently in the 31-day cooling-off period for a Galaxy S26 Ultra bundle. I’m planning to return the phone and the "free gift" Galaxy Buds4 Pro because I’m switching to a different provider.

The issue: While trying out the Buds, I accidentally tore one of the silicone ear tips. It’s a clean tear, but it’s definitely damaged.

I paid a €350 deposit upfront. My concern is that when I send the Buds back to the warehouse via An Post, they’ll see the torn tip and deduct a massive "diminished value" fee from my refund—or worse, charge me the full retail price of the Buds because they aren't "perfect."

My plan: I was thinking of buying a set of matching 3rd party silicone tips (or memory foam ones) from Amazon, swapping them out, and filling the spare tip packet so the box looks "complete" and uniform.

My questions: 1. Has anyone returned a phone/gift bundle to Sky Ireland with a minor missing or damaged accessory? 2. How thorough is the warehouse inspection? Do they actually check the material/brand of the silicone tips, or just check that they are there? 3. Am I risking my €350 deposit over a piece of rubber, or am I overthinking it? Any experiences with Sky’s return/refund process would be hugely appreciated. Cheers!
