Finally settled on my new gravel bike. I had a budget of £1,500 or for my good friends in the USA $2,003. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money as I wanted to make a few upgrades. Bought the Wilier Jaroon 1x GRX for a bargain £1,199 in UK or $1,601 in US.

Looks a very good spec for the money.
Original price £1,999 or $2,669
1x GRX drivetrain which I wanted.
45mm tyre clearance potential sweet spot. I did want 50mm but 45mm is very good and you can’t have it all.
I’m going to change the wheelset to DT Swiss G1800. Not overly expensive but will make the difference.
Change the tyres to 45mm Pirelli Cinturato gravel M tubeless.
Changing the wheels and tyres will make the biggest difference.
Any other thoughts?

So I’ve got 5 days booked for a solo trip in the next few weeks and I’m just looking at ideas to what I can do. I will be travelling on foot so using trains etc or taking my gravel bikes. I live in South of England so possibly ferry to France or up to Lake District. Anyone done something similar?

Where nice to visit in the UK for 5 days as an adventure.

Anyone have the Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 Gen3? How do you find it with SRAM Apex? I’m looking at this one as a new gravel bike. Looks a very good modern bike.

I’m looking at two bikes both same frame but one with Shimano Cues u8000 11 speed the other SRAM Apex XPLR 12 speed. Which is better for gravel riding?

I am looking at Trek Checkpoint ALR 4 gen 3 and Trek Checkpoint ALR 5 gen 3. Just want to know if anyone has ridden these bikes and what they prefer.

Torn between Canyon Grizl 5 with cues even though Canyon sold out of M. Or spend little extra and go for the Grizl CF6 with SRAM Apex?

Does anyone use these bikes and can let me know how they feel about them.
I’m going to order this week.

I can’t decide if the Canyon Grizl 5 with Shimano CUES is good enough or I go with the Grizl 6 with SRAM Apex and pay a little extra.

Does anyone have the Canyon grizl 5 and what do they think?

Is the Canyon Grizl 6 AL a good bike and worth getting? I’m looking for a new gravel bike and the Canyon is on my list.

I like the look of Canyon’s Grizl line but not sure on SRAM Apex in the AL line up. Is the carbon Grizl better I’m not so show as it has same drivetrain

Experience with Ribble Cycles

I’m currently looking at buying a new gravel bike in the Uk and have been looking at Ribble Cycles. The bike I have been looking at is the Ribble ALLGRIT AL APEX XPLR. Which on paper looks a very good spec. Has anyone had experience buying from them or ridden there bikes?
