Destiel BDSM fics are seeping into my everyday life

Just started watching Brooklyn 99 season 1 and captain Holt telling Jake Peralta off is turning me on... It's honestly ridiculous. Jake has some Dean vibes... Except he's obviously not as hot as dean. I read too much Destiel smut today. As if there's ever too much. Am I sick? Nope .

One of the best Cas moments, in my opinion. *SPOILERS*

This is the first time Cas is allowing himself to notice and want things for himself. To discover and experience instead of passively witnessing life on earth. He is developing tastes, likes and dislikes, values, making personal connections based on something other than blind loyalty and mutual aid to a cause (aside from Sam and Dean, though I don't think he he fully understands his attachment with them). He's excited and giving and empathetic and so beautifully human. And Misha embodies this so well. I just love it. It's also hilarious.

The tans, y'all... Ridiculous.

Our boys season 7 Finale to our boys season 8... What the actual hell you guys. Did they get the full orange guy treatment? Did they get a job on the jersey shore? No. Dean just spent a year in purgatory where there's virtually no sunlight. Sam may have spent time outside in Texas with Amelia, but JEEZ LOUISE. Did Jensen and Jared fall asleep in their tanning beds? Wow.

Hot take? Lisa is one of the worst written, least developed or realistic characters/plot points on this show.

One night stand with dean or brief interlude years ago, then dean turns up out of nowhere, throws her life into chaos, saves her and Ben (admittedly hot), but also dissapears again for years. She MOVES. he tracks her down and essentially tells her he loves her and sorry, I gotta go die now and leaves her there, then shows back up (a fucking mess) and she takes him in. FOR A YEAR. The beginning of which he admits to being angry and drinking and having nightmares, to which she says something along the lines of "a guy who just saved the world knocks on your door, you're going to expect him to have a few problems." Or something like that. After supposedly getting over the trauma of allowing his brother to go to hell for ETERNITY, he's bored and moody and depressed and clearly hates this life, (during which she says it was the BEST YEAR OF HER LIFE and then they get attacked and he says hes going to leave her and Ben.Shes a little sad but just goes along with it. He tells Sam at one point that he only went to her because Sam TOLD HIM TO and that he isn't happy and it's not good for him. Then he decides that No he made them vulnerable and now he's got to protect them. He goes back, not because he wants to, but out of obligation. Then he makes them MOVE AGAIN, gets moody AGAIN, yells at her SON, puts them in danger not only from monsters, but the fact that he has a FUCKING ARSENAL in his car with ONE EASILY ACCESSIBLE LOCK (forearms are the leading cause of death of children in the US, by the way. Look it up.) when Dean yells at him for getting into his guns and handling them LISA ISN'T MAD OR CONCERNED AT ALL. She just says something like " I'm not mad, you're just starting to scare me" in a very mild tone. Shes too patient, she's too understanding. He's clearly paranoid and highly dangerous and she's just like... Not a real person. Then he decides he has to go off with Sam and she just... Let's him go. No discussion. He uproots them, yells at her son, traps them in the house and then ditches them immediately, leaving her with ONE SMALL GUN and no additional ammo from what I can tell and she practically tells him "you go have fun now." He's been paranoid and won't let them leave the house and then decides their safe with one gun and some salt at the windows and ditches them. And then he comes back and she says I don't know if we're safer with or without you, but you don't want to be here, you're white knocking this life. You're a hunter not a construction worker and that's not a bad thing. Then she tells him hale can have it all. Go hunt and then come back to her and Ben when he can. ... I just... It's not... Ya know? Like, wtf?

Stage alcohol recipes?

Hey! I'm curious what people use for stage alcohol? Wine, champagne, whiskey, sherry, etc. we've always used tea in different concentrations, and food coloring, but I honestly hate drinking them myself and would rather give my actors something pleasant, that also doesn't break the bank, ya know?

How people write children: an unsolicited opinion

Y'all... No one asked for this. It doesn't matter in the least and I'm not going to name names or anything, but as a nanny, and someone who has regular interaction with children and also someone who reads what is essentially intended to porn with plot, I'm just gonna complain about how so many people write children in their fics. I LOVE how dean, and sometimes Cas interact with kids, but when I read about a 4 year old who can't form complete sentences or a 5 year old talking like a 2 year old, it makes me want to pull my own hair out. Sometimes they don't even specify the age of the child, but somehow the kid is able to run and jump into someone's arms while also having the speaking capability of a 20 month old. I literally threw a pillow and snarled and my cat freaked out. It's just... I dunno, do the barest of research, please. Like you can just Google "Do 6 year olds have chew toys?" Answer: No, or "can 4 year olds form complete sentences?" The answer is YES. and barring a speech impediment, which isn't uncommon, but not the norm, most kids can even pronounce "R" and "S" and "L". Kids only have their 2 front teeth missing for a few weeks of their whole life, so that's not something you run across with EVERY CHILD.

As I said, this is just an inconsequential rant about a surprisingly niche subject, but I HAD to say something.

Thank you for your time

I'm looking for LAUGH OUT LOUD alone in my room / reading in a public space funny.

I'd love a lighthearted longfic, but I'm open to short, canon, non-canon, AU, creature fic, magic, non-magic, I don't care. It doesn't have to be fluffy, it can get serious, I just want to LAUGH. I want well written snark and wit and neurodivergent coded bluntness.

This might need a separate post, but I'm afraid I've read most of the mainstream gems and I'm also looking for new great authors (some of you I'm well aware of and follow and love, you may know who you are, you clever things), but I'm open to self recs, friends of friends, betas who are branching into writing. Gimme gimme gimme. I don't write, and therefore don't care about writing page long sentences (as you can tell), but I LOVE reading good writing. And I love you all. xoxo, Me
