I did it, I found the worst two commies (bonus "commies I don't like are reaaaaalllly CIA plants at the bottom)
Even though I usually like The Hard Times, again with the projection. NIMBYism is way more a leftist problem, and we don't point that out enough...
thehardtimes.netFFS, are leftists just incapable of understanding that they are the ones who say shit like this? It's literally Cenk my dude
The Muppets are actually not that popular
As the title says, most people find them hokey and a little creepy, but think everyone else loves the property and they are alone in not getting it, and so they go along with it, hence why the property gets revived every few years, the revival flops, but said flop doesn't slow the revival pace at all
My [28M] GF [29F] Insists on opening a book store. I don't think I can be part of that
As the title says. I (28M) and my girlfriend (29F)of four years. She has had an odd professional history, and has a small career that has left her dissatisfied. She'll talk at length about needing something else for her mental health, and at least abstractly, I want that for her too, of course.
The problem is, she seems singuluarly obsessed with owning a bookstore, which I just can't see as a thing I can just support, for a couple of reasons.
First is that I don't believe an independent bookstore is going to be sustainable, that books have notoriously bad margins and what money there was in the concept Amazon neatly took around the time we were born (aren't most small bookstores like that owned by hobbyists wealthy off of other ventures?)
Second is that she cut hard into time we had together once before through professional decisions, and I felt hurt by that, and only recently did things get back to having the good time together. There's only so much I can say here, but I won't deny that going back to that would make me feel betrayed.
Third is that, after expressing the second to her, she angrily insisted that I would be involved too, which I do not want, I am someone who treasures work life balance and has a particular dislike of stores and being in them. I cannot see that being healthy or happy for me.
Fourth, and to the point, we talk at length about wanting nice night events, travel, and home ownership in our life. All this would do is make all of that harder.
I should mention a few other points as well...
-She was considering a different idea, until she sprung this on me earlier tonight. I liked the other idea better because I believed it was more viable. I feel like I can't bring it up to her though, because I helped come up with that one, and it'll be an accusation of 'you only want me to do your ideas'. That's frustrating because if I thought her idea was a good plan, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
-She has no experience in management or other ventures, which I suspect will make getting a loan even more of an uphill battle.
Tl;dr: Girlfriend wants to do a risky business venture and expects me to be in on it in addition to my own career. I'm having doubts about whether I can.
