What grades will U of C look at?

Hi! My grade 11 marks weren't the greatest. Im retaking a course over the summer and it’s going pretty well so far, if I can keep my traction and replace my mid 20 level grades with better 30 level grades during first semester, will I be able to get in to standard admission?

Magic Keyboard with another case?

hi! I'm looking into getting an iPad Pro M5 soon and I really like the Magic Keyboard, but I want to be able to take it off and use it with some protection. Is there a case I can put onto the iPad and still be able to snap it onto the Magic Keyboard without removing?

Cheapest way to get started?

Been trying out lite voicebanks with SV1 Basic for a while and I'd like to upgrade to Pro 2 + an actual AI voicebank. I'd preferably like any feminine voice (like Teto or ANRI) that has the ability to sing English decently. I know there's many ways to go about buying software and voices with diff sites, starter packs, etc. What's the cheapest way to get started with a decent voicebank and SV2 Pro?

Mini vs Standard Size PC

I'm looking into some refurbished enterprise desktops (16GB RAM and ~7-9th gen i5s) and was curious on whether it's better to get a mini pc or a larger one. I also have a Vega 56 & a PSU (omen accelerator) lying around doing basically nothing right now if that changes anything. I'd prolly run tailscale, pihole, a plex server, and maybe a music server. A bit of AI would be nice but I doubt the Vega 56 is going to be much help.

Too late for me?

Grade 11 student here. Math 30-1 didn't go so well and I'll probably end up at an 86 after the diploma. My teacher and councillor recommended I re-take over the Summer and I got accepted. My chemistry grade was barely below 90, and I also have plans to re-do that in class next year (recommended by teachers, my grades in chemistry 30 went from 75 in the first bit to 98 on the last two units). Other than that I've done no 30s. Physics 20 grade is sitting at about 92 rn (was higher, dropped because of one test). Physics 30 will be first semester since I'm in AP, and Math 31/35 will be mixed first and second semester (at least that's how my school does it). I want my average to be at least 92. All my teachers say it's possible since I'm right on edge, I just need to practice more. I wanted to know if at this point there's anything else I should do schedule-wise to ensure I have the grades I want by the time U of C will actually look at it (looking to go into electrical engineering, I know pre admissions are beyond cooked for me).

Tips for upgrading Math 30-1 over the summer

I applied to Ignite Centre for eLearning a couple days back as it's the only summer school place that still has apps open (June 17th iirc). My math 30 grade will probably end off around an 87-88 and I'd like to get that past 90% for electrical engineering admissions. My math teacher recommended that I retake the course as soon as I can. I have a few questions that I'd like clarification on.

- Is there anything I can do to ensure my acceptance into Summer school? There's still a while until the application deadline so I'm hoping I can get in

- What differs from regular 30-1 assessment wise? Is it about the same? Harder? Easier? The school is purely online with proctored exams and an in-person diploma in early August.

- If I do worse on the second diploma, will they take my best diploma grade?

SynthV 2 Feature-Limited Restrictions

Hi! If I buy ANRI Arcane on an account that does not own SV 2 Pro or 1 Pro, what voice parameters will I be able to modify? I’m specifically concerned about vibrato since the trial version’s default voice had way too much vibrato for my liking.

Chances to recover? Going into grade 12 next year.

hi!

I am currently in Grade 11, I have already completed Chemistry 30 and am currently taking Math 30-1. Most of my grades as of now are sub-par, not enough to enter the universities I want to go to for engineering (U of C, U of A, SFU, or UBC).

I have plans and have talked with teachers and councillors to retake Math 30-1 online next semester (without re-taking the diploma if I do well), to retake Chemistry 30 during first semester, and I'll have Physics 30 and Math 31 first semester as well. If I am able to increase my grades to meet admission standards by the end of first semester next year, is there a chance I will get admission? I have done a ton of research but I'm still unsure on how the application process fully works, and whether having crappy grade 11 marks will affect my chances if I have good grade 12 marks by end of semester 1. I plan to apply to all 4 of the unis I mentioned but I'd like to know realistically if it's too late to get admission.

I apologize if the answer to this is online somewhere, but I haven't found it and I would like guidance from people who went through this process/are also about to go through.

Confusion on admission courses

Hi! I'm a grade 11 Albertan student looking to apply to software eng at SFU. My grade 11 marks aren't that good, but my 30 level course marks are definitely better. I saw that SFU takes both grade 11 and 12 courses into consideration, with emphasis on 12. If I applied for standard admission (not early) would I have a chance despite my sub-par gr11 marks?

Also, would anyone know the admission average for software eng?

Did the cancelled CBE diploma inflate U of C averages?

Gr11 student applying to U of C or A engineering next year, curious on whether the 92% admission average @ u of c was inflated because of the lack of a semester 1 diploma, and whether that'll go down next year. thoughts?
