Finally got my new PC set up, running Linux (Bazzite) and I have 0 google or microsoft anything!! Problem is a lot of the sites I watch stuff on use widevine and will not work without it. I was considering allowing it on a seperate instance of my browser but I would reeaalllyy prefer not to allow something as invasive and privacy compromising as widevine to run anywhere on my system. Has anyone found any good work arounds? Or is there a way to get the content without going through the current service, for refrence I am mostly concerned with Crunchyroll and Prime cause one has new releases the other has a lot of the content I paid for. Any advice?

Hey all, I'm pretty new to all this but I've been using Bazzite on my PC as the only OS for a week or so now and I've been really liking it. Hiccups here and there but it's been mostly smooth so far. Here comes today, I've been putting the lag spikes or disconnects recently down to bad servers or an issue with the game client, but today I had my first longer discord call and it keeps disconnecting every minute or two and reconnecting. This translates to games as well, I keep getting kicked from matches, huge lag spikes, dropped from queue, etc.

Verified its not my internet connection, I have another device working fine, made sure to limit that connections bandwidth to 1/10th available, and it has had 0 issues, as well as pings to the google DNS coming back with 3-4ms latency. I'm wondering if this is my hardware fighting with the OS again or some setting I don't know about and didn't fix lol

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Has anyone used the Azeron Cyborg 2 with their bazzite build? Been thinking about getting one of these before I even built my computer and after a few kinks with other devices/software it has occured to me I am no longer using windows lmao. It's not cheap so I was hoping to see if anyone else has tried it before I pull the trigger

Title says most of it, bluetooth either sucks, it doesn't work, or it doesn't exist. No idea what im doing, what the PC is doing, who is wrong, what is wrong, why is the sky blue, what are those

Basically the whole 9 of idk and I have no idea what else to do, below are the specs, updated everything but MSI cause bazzite, debating wiping it all and starting over lol

Hi! I just installed Bazzite on my new PC (specs below). My issue is that any and all audio devices I try to use are at best terrible quality, at worst unusable. I've played around with specific codecs, signal analyzers, and updated all devices (minus the motherboard, I cannot find a way to update the MSI drivers) involved as well as triple checked bazzite is up to date.

I really, really want to continue to use bazzite, it's my favorite distro by far and as for performance it has been phenomenal. But if I cannot use bluetooth that really makes it hard to continue to use it as my daily drive, especially since I cannot play any sound out of my monitor (still don't know why for that one). Has anyone had similar issues?

Troubleshooting info:
Tried 4 different BT devices
Tried each codec available for each device
Disconnected, unpaired, repaired, updated, still the same
Rebooted PC and repeated each above step
Tested direct connection, functional but bad quality

I recently completed a new build with the Pro X870E-P motherboard and am running Bazzite OS. Everything has been working great except 1 small problem, no matter what I try the WiFi is not showing up. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I feel like I'm losing my mind😅

So here's my build

CPU: Ryzen 7 9850
GPU: RTX 5080
MB: MSI Pro x870e-p

I installed Bazzite but messed up, I enabled secure boot but accidentally selected "Continue Boot" when I first loaded it up after the live version. Realized I messed up, rebooted the PC to get back to the main selection, but it went straight into the normal boot which obviously failed. I figured let me power everything off, flip the switch on the PSU, and unplug it for a few minutes. Plugged it back in and now it won't turn on at all, the only weird thing was the rbg lights on the ram randomly turned on a couple seconds after I unplugged it but I figured that was residual power and hit the power button a few times to drain it.

I do not know what to do, it's like the computer isn't even plugged in. I hit the clear CMOS button on the mother board but nothing is happening. Did I just brick my system?

So I got the Zotoc Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 earlier today (thanks for the suggestion!) And I'm hitting a snag getting it good to go. It comes with a 1 splitter cable, 3 x 8-pin to 1 x 16-pin cable. When I look for power requirements it just lists this

Power Input: 1 x 12v-2x6 power input

I am so confused on what I need to plug in. Does this need just 2 PCI-E cables run to it? Then why the 3 to 1 splitter cable? For reference the 16-pin looks exactly like the PCI-E 5.1 cable. I can't find anything helpful on their website and their support is a "send a message we'll get back to you" deal. Does anyone have one of these? I'm terrified to turn the power on until I know for 100% certain I'm not about to fry 1.2k😅

This is the GPU I got

So I've been wanting a good PC for years, been saving up for a while and with prices about to get EVEN worse I figured I might as well pull the trigger now. I've done a decent amount of research over the last 2 months but as this is a very expensive purchase there's a bit of anxiety about doing something dumb that ruins the build/wrong parts. I got called out for being the "Negative Nancy" regarding our new PT policy, and now I’m tasked with fixing it. I’ve moved from complaining to "leading", and I’m quickly realizing I’m in over my head.

I’ll be honest: I was being the resident grumpy b*tch about our new PT policy. I was vocal about how it trashes our schedule, and leadership finally got tired of my mouth. They told me to stop complaining and come up with a better way to do it.

Aight bet easy work not to suck - Small issue, shit is way more complicated than I thought, I will never tell them that but I do need help😅

Right now, we’re doing "fun runs" and "motivational marathons," and they are creating two primary issues: With low manning, we’re already pulling 13-hour days. These events either force us to show up at an hour that would offend a rooster or they cut into work time—but the workload doesn't change. The job needed to be done yesterday, so pushing tasks to tomorrow isn't an option. There’s a lingering feeling that because our work is "desk-bound" or less physically demanding on paper, our time is viewed as expendable. We are hitting a wall of total exhaustion.

Before I crashed out on our chief, an army coworker hit me with a reality check that knocked the "righteous fury" out of me: leadership is likely just trying to make PT less miserable than a standard 4-mile base run. They’re trying to find a middle ground, but every "good" idea I brainstorm has a massive downside:

• Sounds cool until you realize an Analyst flight and a Maintainer flight aren’t playing the same game. You can’t level that field fairly.
• While leaderboards can motivate the top 10%, the can easily turn toxic for the bottom 30%. I’ve been in that bottom bracket. I know that seeing your name at the bottom of a list doesn't spark a "comeback"—it just confirms every negative thought you have about yourself. In the mirror, in the uniform, in your work—it just screams "failure." I want a system that bridges the gap, not one that highlights it.

I need a model that respects the clock and the individual. I'm leaning toward a Performance-Based Autonomy model:

1. Exemption as Motivation: High AFT/PFT scores mean you PT on your own time. This solves the shift problem for top performers.
2. Functional Fitness: Move away from "fun" and toward movements that actually help—preventing blown backs for maintainers or carpal tunnel for analysts.
3. The "Work-Off" Clause: If manning drops below a certain % or we are in a surge, PT is a "commander’s call" cancellation. You can't motivate a person who is physically depleted from a 15-hour day.

Questions for the Group

• What does a healthy PT routine actually look like in a high-tempo, low-manning unit?
• How does the routine adapt when the workday is a "nightmare"? Is there a recognized fail-safe?
• How do you introduce a new system so it feels like a tool for readiness rather than an additional chore?

TL/DR: I complained about PT, got told "fine, you fix it," and realized I’m out of my depth. I need to get my ass out of the fire I lit with a plan that gets people fit and then gets them home.
