Two cats vomiting and diarrhea. Both acting semi normally. No new food, no new treats. Nothing has changed. One started 2 days prior with symptoms.
Negative PCR fecals, normal labs, normal radiographs.
Both on proviable and Cerenia.

Could this be a viral illness? What else can be tested for?
Both indoor only, utd vaccines neutered male cats ages 2 and 8. Play and groom each other frequently.

Is it acceptable to send only unstained FNA slides to Idexx for cytology ? I packaged some up last night and laid in bed wondering if I should have stained at least one of the four I put in the slide holder.
I feel like I’ve sent them in the past that way but now am wondering if I should ask a coworker on shift to stain one later to send out. Our office is super new to using Idexx reference lab and at my GP the vet often looked at FNA’s in house. I haven’t had to deal with sending one out in a while.
