Hey everyone,
I’m a 35yo dad of three and I’m about to go in for my first ACL reconstruction along with a meniscus repair after a football (soccer) injury.

I’ve been reading a lot of the comeback stories here, and honestly, they’ve helped me stay positive. I really believe I can come back stronger from this. That said… I’d be lying if I said I’m not nervous.

Staying active has always been important to me -both for my family and my love for the game. I usually play recreationally once or twice a week and work out around 3 times a week. I’m definitely not ready to give up football or workouts

I’d really appreciate any insight from those who’ve been through this:

-What should I expect going into surgery?
-How tough are the first couple of weeks post-op?
-What helped you the most during early recovery? (Certain food or workouts)
-Any tips to make rehab smoother (or even a bit faster, if that’s realistic)?

Also, any words of encouragement would honestly mean a lot right now.

Thanks in advance 🙏
