I know cutting American Spirits & Country Boy is wild. I just mesh with the other tracks SLIGHTLY more

For CONTEXT. I am a straight 30 year old male. (will post why relevant to state that)

I absolutely love Nessa. First album i heard was Pretty Poison. Aftercare was my 2nd most listened to album last year, next to $B. I already memorized most of every lyric off of Primadonna.

There are a lot of her lyrics I genuinely relate to. This is incredibly embarrassing to admit , but for most of last year and this year ive been struggling with an ED. Its gross. disgusting. something i cant shake and im ashamed by it. ive lost 55 pounds. its not quirky. its not cool. Dying on the Inside is my most listened to song last year.

I am a musician myself. Been in local metal bands, and a lot of her style ive actually have been inspired by.

I say all this to say - she had an interview a while back. on the street. where she mentioned she writes music for the girls and gays. WHICH IS FINE. im not saying thats wrong. shes also mentioned all men suck.

for me , this has genuinely made me feel... upset? like im ~not supposed~ to listen to her material? ive messages her directly. Unsurprisingly due to the amount of messages, she didnt reply lol.

I know her music is PROBABLY heavily female catered to. However, is it wrong that i listen? would she feel a certain type of way? I understand i shouldn't care and just listen to what i want. and its probably not that deep. but when your #1 artist. someone you really respect from a musical standpoint says that, its sorta hurtful.
