Possible to stop tree from fruiting? Mid TN

We have a massive beautiful black cherry tree in our yard. We have dogs and we are really concerned about toxicity. We REALLY do not want to cut it down. Is there a way to stop it from fruiting?

Heater Ts Redone, Wrong Clamps 2000 100 Series

Had a local shop swap my heater Ts and hoses. Noticed they used worm gear clamps instead of constant tension clamps.

Is this something worth asking them to change back to factory spec?

My Landcrusier’s going to kill me 200 100 series

EDIT: 2000*

Bought my first Landcrusier for a decent price, even tho I didn’t love the color, it had been in Texas its whole life with one owner. My main concern was getting something as close to stock as possible that had been treated well.

Upon receipt of the vehicle I spent 5k in preventative maintenance - water pump, power steering pump, timing belt and associated parts, new radiator, new shocks, hoses and heater Ts.

The windshield was cracked so I got that replaced - the molding costed $400, and they found rust under the previously installed windshield. Took weeks of my time finding all the parts (had to replace rear view mirror too)

Have it back 2 weeks then find I have a leak of steering fluid. Take it back to the shop - steering rack is leaking and cv axel boot is ripped and leaky. Another $2k in repairs.

Not feeling the Toyota reliability right now!

The problems keep coming, sunroof leak 2000 100 series

Had a heavy rain today and found water dripping onto the driver side head rest from the sunroof. The sunroof motor is dead so I cannot open to investigate. The headliner was not wet but there was some moisture in the sides of the track.

From reading, it sounds like could be drains or the seal. What’s the best way to diagnose? Also can’t find a motor to replace. Any suggestions?

Rivets vs Screws on 2000 Toyota Landcruiser

Replacing the front windshield on my LandCrusier with a reputable, local shop. The molding / trim is held on with rivets from the factory but the installer insists on using screws for fear of cracking the windshield.

However, on this specific car, there are exhaustive forums discussing how not using screws leads to hidden rust and water intrusion.

I called a few other shops and they all said they’d use screws.

How big of a deal is this actually and should I walk away if installer won’t use rivets?

100 2000 Series Windshield Replacement Nightmare

Recently bought my first Land Cruiser but it has a cracked windshield.

Today the installers came out and turns out it had been replaced before. The mirror that was on that glass was after market.

The new glass they came with has a button / mount already on the glass. So this turns into I need to source a new mirror and base AND new moldings.

Moldings were expensive AF.

The other issue is it seems this year either shipped with a mirror mounted to the roof or a mirror on the glass. So I sourced an OEM mirror and base, but not seeing how the base fits the pre installed button.

At a loss. I thought parts were more readily available for the 100 series.

Droning Noise at specific RPM 2000 year / 100 series

2000 100 series, 210k miles, recently did timing belt, water pump, radiator, new shocks, oil change, fluid change on front and rear differential and transmission.

Vehicle has a droning noise at 1,600-1,800 RPM only when I’m accelerating or holding speed. If I let off the gas, it stops, If I get above 2k rpm it stops. Feel some vibration in the pedal when this occurs. Don’t hear it outside the car, only in the cabin.

What could this be? Is it normal?

Gap forming in interior

2026 CRV Hybrid. Noticing a gap forming between trim pieces in the interior. Am I being overly picky or is this worth of flagging to the dealer?

Clunk When Shifting Between R & D 100 Series

Recently picked up a 2000 100 series. Dumped 5k into refreshing everything.

One issue I have is when shifting between R and D there is a noticeable, single clunk. I have read that can be U Joints.

How big of a deal is this? Can I just let it roll or do I need to dump more money? I just want to drive it!

Sell 100 series for this 80?

This 80 series is 29k from a dealer, can get them down to 26k. 170k miles. Is this a good price?

u/DirtEmo — 2 months ago

200k miles, scooped it up for $9,500. No rust, some cosmetic stuff but mostly clean.

I really wanted an 80 series but they were just so expensive. After just a couple days tho, a very clean low mileage 80 series has come on the market, it’s 25k but ugh. They are so badass.

Do I sell the 100 series and go all in on an 80?

New to BaT. Won an auction and having a company ship the car.

Which is customary? Do I confirm pick up with BaT / Caramel once the shipping company picks up the vehicle or once it has arrived to me?

Thanks!

Looking at this 94 LC. Was feeling good about getting it but then I looked through the sellers social media and saw videos of where he completely removed the engine.

I asked what kinda work he did and he said he pulled the engine to paint and clean the engine bag + “odds and ends and general clean up.”

Is that common? Engine looks very clean, I’m just afraid they are hiding something or maybe didn’t put it back together well.
