Ideal Album Length/Number Of Tracks
Y'all.
Maybe this has been a topic before, maybe not, I couldn't see anything recent so I'm creating it.
I wanna ask, for you what the ideal album length is in regards to number of songs.
As an example, if I see an album gets announced with ten tracks, I am HYPED. Ten tracks, to me, says these are all gonna be quality-ass songs, all killer, no filler. A definitive statement. No fucking about. We brought you The Good Shit. Now, obviously, there are exceptions to this way of thinking, but that's my feeling. Conversely, if an album gets announced and it has, say, fifteen songs, I'm like "Daaaaaamn, tracks 9 through 13 are gonna be tough... 😬" Again, there would be exceptions. I can think of them, so can you, but yeah. For me, an album with over twelve songs is getting into danger territory. Ten is my personal fav. Eleven is interesting. nine!? Who are you, Thin Lizzy in the 70s? Let's go, nine is sick.
So yeah, does anyone else assess an album like this, care about how many songs is on an album, have preconceptions of an albums quality based on the amount of songs on it? I wanna know.
