Are Australians losing their traffic sense?

Happened three times this weekend. In almost all cases it didn't seem that the drivers were regular Australians. Mostly visitors or someone who didn't seem aware of traffic rules.

First, I was meters ahead during merging lanes and another driver pushed past speedily. Was clearly either a visitor or a student.

Second, while turning left, an Asian driver from the opposite direction turned right narrowly avoiding me. Yes, he deserved a honk.

Then today, someone changed lanes on M1 without indicating on a 100km speed.

Are we turning into a lawless society, or people are behaving erratically, or I just made a hattrick with traffic problems? Or is it a case of others not obeying rules because they never learned that before?

Loneliness or someone forcing this dude?

I (52, male) came across this article where someone is worried about their dad who is lonely but not calling it loneliness.

And here I'm thinking that I love to be alone, reading my books while sitting on my expensive and real Eames lounge chair. Someone tell these folks that we're okay as we are.
