Traffic cameras

I was in a car accident at the end of July at the corner of Polo Club and Man o war in Lexington, Kentucky. Im pretty sure that it was the other drivers fault and asked the police for an open information request to look at traffic cameras. They cam back that there are no such cameras. My wife and I are quite positive that there are cameras there. Could someone please confirm if there are?

Looking for a Traffic Lawyer in Brunswick County to Help with a Speeding Ticket

I was recently pulled over for going 84 mph in a 70 mph zone in Lawrenceville, and I'm hoping not to have this on my driving record to prevent my insurance rates from going up (why I'm not paying the ticket outright). This is the first speeding ticket that I have ever received, and I would go to court myself, but I live in a different state and am busy that day. I'm looking to hire a traffic lawyer to show up on my behalf and argue to either dismiss the ticket altogether or reduce it to a non-moving violation. I received a lot of promotional materials in the mail that advertised a less than $200 flat fee, but when I googled them, they seemed quite sketchy. I'm quite low on cash at the moment and would prefer not to pay an exorbitant amount, but I also recognize that a good defense will not be cheap.

Does anyone have any recommendations for lawyers in Brunswick County, VA, for this purpose?

Traffic at Centerville Rd & Capitol Trail

Ever since some planner decided to change the traffic light pattern, this intersection has turned into a dangerous area to drive or walk in. People coming north, instead of waiting with the rest if us dopes, use the right hand turn lane to the bus stop to speed to the front of the line and cut in. Near accidents constantly here. How about a few planners sit in the bus stop parking lot and observe the mess they have made. Or better yet, stand on the shoulder of the road just north of the second right turn entrance to the bus stop.

I don't think putting up another speed camera will correct thus behavior.

I have a few other areas that I think need addressing also.

Anyone else?

Toll road input from drivers

I work for CBS News Texas and am looking for someone with a regular commute involving toll roads in the DFW area to interview.
We'd want to get video of them driving, interview them about they navigate them, and review their toll tag records to see how much it's cost them over time.
Let me know if you're interested!

Right Turn from Slip Lane / Channelize Lane in CA

This is an intersection that on one side merges into the bike lane, has a stop light to the left, a crosswalk and then after the crosswalk yield marking. There are no signs on the right.

the second photo is the other side of the street, turning right onto this street. A few years ago it had a stop light on the island, but they're removed it. This side has the yield markings before the crosswalk, not after.

Neither cross walk have walk signals, they only exist for the main street.

DMV is stating that we ignore the markings on the ground, and the stop light for the first right turn is what we should be looking at. That seems ambiguous to me given the signal is directly adjacent to the crosswalk, not after the crosswalk as well.

Thoughts? Everyone I've asked but the DMV says that this road would be treated as a yield.

Just got my red Ps yesterday and I’m worried I’ve been caught speeding in a school zone

got my red Ps literally yesterday and I’m still really new to driving by myself. Today at around 3:58pm, I was driving and genuinely thought school zones ended at 3:30pm. I was doing the normal 50km/h speed limit, but apparently it was still a 40km/h school zone at that time.
There was a speed camera there and now I’m freaking out that I’m going to lose my licence because I’m on my red Ps.
It was honestly a genuine mistake I wasn’t intentionally speeding or trying to go over the limit, I genuinely thought the school zone had finished. I’m pretty sure my speed was around 50.
Is there any way to get out of the fine/suspension if it was an honest mistake, or is there basically nothing I can do if the camera caught me? Has anyone been in a similar situation, especially on their red Ps?
I’m absolutely stressing because I only got my licence yesterday 😭

Ticket issued in my name even though my dad was driving — Detroit

My dad ran a red light and was involved in an accident at 7 Mile & Mound in Detroit over a month ago. He was driving, but the officer initially issued the ticket in my name because I was also at the scene.
I told the officer my dad was driving, and he said he would cancel my ticket and issue a new one to my dad.
It’s been over a month and I haven’t received anything. I also searched my name in the Michigan ticket system and called both the police department and court, and they couldn’t find any ticket under my name.
I don’t have written proof that the officer canceled it.
Should I do anything else, or can I assume it’s been taken care of?

CBR theory question — unpaved road (fietspad?) vs paved road priority rule

Doing CBR theory practice and hit a question that seems to contradict a rule I learned elsewhere. Hoping someone with solid RVV knowledge can clarify.

I previously learned that when an unpaved road meets a paved road, it's automatically treated as an unequal intersection (ongelijkwaardig kruispunt), meaning the driver on the unpaved road must always yield to the paved road, regardless of the normal "priority to the right" rule.

But then I got this practice question (screenshot attached): a car is approaching an intersection where a cyclist is coming from the right, on what looks like an unpaved path. The app marked "the cyclist must give way" as correct, explaining it as a standard equal/uncontrolled intersection where priority-to-the-right applies, not applying the unpaved-road exception at all.

My question: Does the unpaved-vs-paved automatic-priority rule not apply when the "unpaved road" is actually a fietspad (cycle path) rather than a full road? Or is there some other reason the exception didn't apply here? Trying to understand exactly when this exception does and doesn't kick in, since it seems like it should have applied based on how I originally learned it.

Its raining or just started to rain and you're in the left 2 lanes of a 4 lane highway what do you do?

A: You stay in your lane and slow down well below the posted speed limit?

B: You turn your hazard lights on and go 10mph under the speed limit?

C: You slam on the brakes when someone comes behind you and refuse to move over?

D: You do absolutely nothing other than turn your lights on?

Select the correct answer.

If you are driving on any highway, interstate or expressway and you answered anything other than D, please for the love of Satan, stop driving and get the fuck off the road. You are the reason traffic becomes traffic. If you can't drive it, DONT!

17 over speeding ticket ‼️‼️

Any advice on fighting a speeding ticket with an accident within the last 6 months??

context: i am a young driver, state of Georgia. beginning of the year, my insurance was 1500 every 6 months. Back in march i was involved in a fender bender and was named at fault (i admit, i was.) I did not have to go to court or pay a fine for this. However, insurance did go up to 2100 every 6 months.

Today: was on a 4 lane road, my 2 lanes empty besides me and was clocked going 62 in a 45 at 11:56 this morning (August 16). ticket says method was laser and calibration/check line reads what i believe to say 0500 (my copy is extremely light on the writing and a little hard to make out).

my ultimate goal is to prevent this from being reported to insurance. i can only assume my rate would skyrocket substantially because of being considered a at risk driver because of age and also from 2 infractions 5 months apart from eachother. I am aware i should not pay the ticket online. looking it up in my state, if im successful in going to court and getting the speed changed from 17 over to 14 over, i can get a ticket that will not be reported to DDS.

will absolutely be completing a 6 hour defensive course to help my case. Please, i am not well versed in legal and cannot afford an attorney OR increased insurance. any legal advice on further steps i can take to help my case and what to say to the judge will help. i was very polite and apologetic to the officer.

court date is october 14th.

Are Australians losing their traffic sense?

Happened three times this weekend. In almost all cases it didn't seem that the drivers were regular Australians. Mostly visitors or someone who didn't seem aware of traffic rules.

First, I was meters ahead during merging lanes and another driver pushed past speedily. Was clearly either a visitor or a student.

Second, while turning left, an Asian driver from the opposite direction turned right narrowly avoiding me. Yes, he deserved a honk.

Then today, someone changed lanes on M1 without indicating on a 100km speed.

Are we turning into a lawless society, or people are behaving erratically, or I just made a hattrick with traffic problems? Or is it a case of others not obeying rules because they never learned that before?

Wrong way

I think it’s the one I saw in Khalidiya at around 1:30 AM on Sunday 🤔. I was surprised because, coming from the Khalidiya traffic light, instead of making a U-turn, he took a full left toward the Museum (Al Hosn Park) then turned right and came back toward Khalidiya. That was mad...

Does a speeding ticket show up on your driving record before you pay it?

I got a speeding ticket and was given the opportunity to take driving school to not get it put in my driving record by taking driving school. I have not taken care of it yet (not taken the driving school class nor paid the ticket). Now I've been hired for a job where my background is being checked and I know if they see this on my driving record the job offer will probably be taken back.

I have very little time to complete the background check so I am wondering if because I haven't done anything with the ticket yet, will it show up on my driving record? Or is it still "pending" and my future employer won't be able to see it?

This is in California.

Speeding Ticket shows Date of Areest

So I got a speeding ticket 3 yrs ago in Jasper county SC. I paid the ticket. Yesterday I pulled my record and it says “date of arrest” on the record. But I wasn’t arrested. The officer let me go on spot. I’m wondering if it’s a uniform ticket thing or?? I’m super confused now.
