Today, someone attempted to withdraw 3k.

i honestly do not have much context to give you. here’s what i know:

i bank with a credit union. today, i get a notice that a charge was declined for 3k at citibank. that’s about everything i know. i immediately lock my card and got a notification that a second charge for $0 (???) was attempted and blocked because i had my card locked. both transactions were 4 minutes apart.

i’m confused how someone can walk into a citibank with a card from a entirely different banker, in a different name, was able to even attempt to withdraw. the charge was declined due to insufficient funds.

now i did chat gpt and they said something along the lines of it doesn’t necessarily mean they went inside a citibank and tried this, just that citibank was the merchant. i don’t know what the fuck that even means..

card was basically immediately closed and i’m getting a new one tomorrow. i did not have my card stolen and i haven’t put any bank details into anything sketchy recently.

thoughts???? i’m freaking out and am paranoid it may be identity theft. i’m 18..

17 over speeding ticket ‼️‼️

Any advice on fighting a speeding ticket with an accident within the last 6 months??

context: i am a young driver, state of Georgia. beginning of the year, my insurance was 1500 every 6 months. Back in march i was involved in a fender bender and was named at fault (i admit, i was.) I did not have to go to court or pay a fine for this. However, insurance did go up to 2100 every 6 months.

Today: was on a 4 lane road, my 2 lanes empty besides me and was clocked going 62 in a 45 at 11:56 this morning (August 16). ticket says method was laser and calibration/check line reads what i believe to say 0500 (my copy is extremely light on the writing and a little hard to make out).

my ultimate goal is to prevent this from being reported to insurance. i can only assume my rate would skyrocket substantially because of being considered a at risk driver because of age and also from 2 infractions 5 months apart from eachother. I am aware i should not pay the ticket online. looking it up in my state, if im successful in going to court and getting the speed changed from 17 over to 14 over, i can get a ticket that will not be reported to DDS.

will absolutely be completing a 6 hour defensive course to help my case. Please, i am not well versed in legal and cannot afford an attorney OR increased insurance. any legal advice on further steps i can take to help my case and what to say to the judge will help. i was very polite and apologetic to the officer.

court date is october 14th.
