Local internet personality receives 'Cease and Desist' letter from French luxury Brand, Kenzo Paris
By SACJ GAZETTE staff writer Benito Camelo
According to an Instagram reel, @theofficialbigkenzonotthelittleone, published yesterday, local internet celebrity " Big Kenzo" allegedly received a cease and Desist letter from Kenzo S.A. ( stylized as KENZO Paris). Kenzo Paris is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada.
The alleged cease and Desist communication came in the form of a letter. Although it was written in English, " Big Kenzo," whose legal name is Heavenly Rodriguez, had to have her neighbor, Drew Peacock, a retired actor, read it and explain it to her since Big Dog Tino and Jonathan were unavailable at the the time.
The letter claims that by her using the name
" Big Kenzo," it is negatively affecting their brand and that some people are associating the popular local internet personality with their intellectual property, Kenzo Paris. The letter also adds that " [she] should immediately stop using the name " Big Kenzo" or face leagal consequences."
A spokesman for Kenzo Paris, Harry Corver, said " There is a Paris Texas, so maybe some people might get us mixed up."
Miss Rodriguez, is known for her colorful videos and perfect English diction and pronunciation where she promotes local iconic jewelry store, Saad's. One video has more than 32 views on Instagram.
However, in recent weeks she has made the news for an alleged road rage incident that led to her arrest. She gained even more popularity as she was featured several times on a local subreddit that pokes fun of all things San Antonio. There is no word if Miss Rodriguez will stop using the" Big Kenzo" moniker or not.

UNESCO declares San Antonio as a world heritage site for the Edgar haircut
By SACJ GAZETTE staff writer Benito Camelo
In addition to being a UNESCO world heritage site for it's missions and a creative city of gastronomy, San Antonio now boasts another unique distinction; a UNESCO world heritage site designation for the Edgar haircut. The announcement was made last week on the UNESCO homepage.
San Antonio beat out several Texas cities for the distinction including Houston and El Paso. UNESCO spokesman, Armando Casas said, " We carefully studied San Antonio's societal impact on this cultural phenomenon and we are confident that we made the right choice." Mr. Casas added, " the westside [ of San Antonio] is the epicenter for this hairstyle, especially the areas of Marbach and Ingram Park Mall. The haircut even made national news a few years ago when a food truck owner banned it from his establishment.
Mayor Gina Ortiz Jone's office put out a statement that reads, " I am thrilled at the designation and am proud to see a marginalized group represented in our city. I Also look forward to the business that this will bring to our residents and constituents, especially on the developing far westside."
According to MySa, " the style- often resembling a bowl cut with straight bangs and a sharp fade on the side - has deep roots in San Antonio's westside. The haircut is often associated with young latino men.
The origin of the of the name Edgar for the hairstyle is unknown, some online sources claim that it is named after Seattle Mariners baseball player Edgar Martínez, who sported the haircut as early as 2019.
Other sources claim, without evidence, that the hairstyle has roots in mesoamerican indigenous cultures. Whatever the origin, it is undeniable that San Antonio does in fact have a vibrant and active Edgar subculture. . Countless social media sites ( even a satirical subreddit), influencers and personalities document the day to day adventures of our local Edagr community making this distinction warranted.
