What would I need to get into this hobby

Hii I hope everyone is having a great day, I’ve wanted to start making some metal jewelry, like those full ear cuffs, bracelets, maybe smaller earings, for a while, but I’m not sure what I’d need to start so I’ve been sidelining this idea for a long time. Started on ADHD meds and now I’m bursting with creativity and a need to be productive so I’m wondering if this is a viable option to start off with. I’ve got experience working with metal but mostly in an engineering manufacturing field, never anything too small or delicate. Due to this past experience I’ve got a dremel and a fuck ton of engraving/sculpting/cutting bits (if they sell it I’ve prob got it), I’m just not sure what else I could need. Ive always figured I’d need a forge for casting and some kind of anvil or smth for shaping the material but I figured I’ll talk to the experts and see what’s really needed.

TLDR: Got a rotary tool and bits, experienced with metal working. What else could I need to make rings, ear cuffs and bracelets

Bought a Dremel 8240, and it’s making weird noises

Just bought myself this cordless dremel 8240 and it’s been a week of using it and it feels like smth is wrong, not sure if that’s normal. Sometimes when starting the tool it seems to vibrate as if spinning wrong in some way, shaking the whole tool as I use it. Sometimes it’s completely normal and sometimes it sounds like it’s sputtering in some way. Could anyone tell me if this is normal?

Can I heat treat a blade in a pizza oven?

Working with my first blade (small barbecue knife around 30cm max total length), going to form it from 1084 steel bar and then was hoping to heat treat it in the cheapest way possible. I’ve got a pizza oven at home, I know it’s not a forge but I figure it’s better than nothing, and I was wondering if there’s any way to DIY a makeshift forge from that, just for a few uses, doesn’t have to be anything fancy/sustainable long term

Softest steel you’d recommend for a functional barbecue knife

I’m making my father a gift for his birthday, forming a steak knife from a flat bar and carving/engraving the handle. I’ve got experience with metal working, mostly in using stock materials to manufacture brackets and other products of that nature but I’ve never worked with knives before, other than the casual sharpening and maintenance care. Currently I’m traveling (my dad lives in another country) and all I’ve got is a dremel 8240 which I keep on me. I was wondering what is the softest steel alloy that I could use which would still hold an edge and work well as a knife. Since im traveling I’m not really looking to buy an angle grinder bcs I don’t have the space in my bag to take it back home, and then it’d just be a waste of money.

TLDR: Softest steel alloy that’s viable for a decent barbecue knife and hold a nice sharp edge

Need recommendations on heavy duty dremel cutting & sanding discs

I’m starting my first metal working project, a simple Batarang I’ll cut and sharpen, and I was wondering if it’s possible to do so with a dremel 8240. I’ve got this tool from previous projects and was hoping to not have to buy anything like an angle grinder right away. What would be the best dremel cutting and sanding bits for working with stainless steel? (if that’s possible). Also any recommendations anyone has for a beginner I’d appreciate!!

How to sharpen a Batarang

Well the title pretty much sums it up, I’m making my first attempt at a Batarang, but I’m not sure how I’d sharpen it, at least just enough to be able to stick to a wooden target I’ve got for throwing knives, It doesn’t have to be razor sharp. I’m not new to sharpening in general, I take care of my knives, but with the Batarang’s uneven structure I’m not sure where to begin. The idea was smth simple like the classic logo. Anyone have any ideas? I’ve got some whetstones I use for my knives, and a dremel that I could throw a grinding tip on and makeshift a grindstone, although I’m not sure on the efficacy or performance of that

Weathered BA: Season 2 Mask

I’ve never really done any model designing whatsoever but daredevil has been my favorite character in fiction since watching the Netflix show a couple years ago. I finally got access to a 3D printer through uni (although it is like 7 years old and kinda shitty) and made this display model after a couple days of work. Ngl I think it looks okay for a first project so I thought I’d share
