I’m still in love.

My first Porsche. Likely my last.

I know early model Panameras are not for everyone. And that’s ok.

Had it for about a year, and still can’t stop smiling. Have spent the last 4 months getting it 100% mechanically sound. It is truly amazing to see and feel the difference from start to finish. A properly tuned Porsche is a thing of beauty.

Just have a couple of aesthetic corrections to make that are from the previous owner.

They really are great cars.

Post-Interview communication rhythm

We all see it.

"Call me back as soon as the interview is done." or "Reach out as soon as you close out the interview, so we can discuss how it went, what they asked, etc." or "Text me when you're done, so we can have a discussion, about how you did, and if appropriate, possible next steps.."

You call the recruiter back, per their instructions.... VM.
You call the other number (Recruiter's Mgr.) .... VM.

You wait, an hour or two, and call again. VM.

Email? Sure. (Maybe they're just busy.)

One email. Nothing.
Another email, the next day. Nothing. Weeks? I'm dead.

Recruiters: IS there a standard? What level of reaching back out is appropriate (and responsible) upon the job seeker behalf, and what is perceived as desperation in the silent, neverending void of the aftermath?

It's insane to seek someone out, arrange all the interview(s), take up everyone's time, pump someone up with "you've got this!" jargon, then ..........silence?

There needs to be an accountable rhythm of call and response, and accountability attached to that. With consequences on both sides. Ghosting a thoroughly sought after candidate is just about the most unprofessional action I can imagine.

No hating on recruiters intended - this is a highly emotional topic where lives (food water shelter, etc,) are literally in the balance on a good deal of these occasions. Teach us the expectation from your perspective - we are surely to follow, believe me.

Community Highlight: School Of Rock, Rancho Santa Margarita

As a proud member of Rancho Santa Margarita, I am going to commit to highlighting some of the incredible treasures that we have in our small community. This can (and will) be anything from topical events, to our rich history, to potential future endeavors.

We are all so blessed to be living in such a gifted and well tended community. God has truly held this little corner of California in the palm his hand, with a safety record in the top safest cites for 2026,

...and that makes it feel miles above the rest of California.

But actually, my focus is actually on something a little cooler. A little more awesome, and a little more LOUD.

I'd like to call out the recent spotlight on our School of Rock, located right off Santa Margarita Parkway. I've met with them, and as a former band geek, can confirm that this school has it going on. Please check out this local student highlight, provided by their own site. SoR is a franchise, one of which is proudly seated right here, just across the road from our own local In-N-Out.

It's really awesome that we have such talent, right here in our own city. If you haven't heard of the School of Rock, worried over how much musical experience your littles will receive prior to leaving the nest, or even simply wanted a path to music for your kids, but didn't know how to get there, I would really consider checking them out.

Is it "unique" to us? Nah, they've got franchises' all over OC. But we DO have one, and that's one of the things I really love about our town. Our kids have the opportunity to R O C K, and it's really just a quick jaunt into town. (What I would have done for something like this as a kid.)

Stay cool, Keep it easy, and crack a smile as we roll into the final stretch for fall. I'll check in next weekend, with another highlight of our incredible town, and how we keep bringing the heat (pun very much intended), from a city of 55,000, in this quiet little corner of ours.

Can you think of something - or someone - in RSM that is worth a shout out!? Post in the comments below, or let me know via PM, and I'll see if I can cover it in the weeks and months to come. People have GOT to let the world know how awesome this place is.

Some Porsche love at the Marconi Museum for their open house last weekend.

Cali's heatwave didn't stop the magic. Some really good cars, from across the generations. Thank God for air conditioning.
