Why windows 11 is THAT bad

Seriously, skipping ale the spying telemetry and bloatware and how inconsistent the ui is.. WHY IS THE TABLET MODE THAT BAD. WHY? In windows 10 and 8.1 it was awesome so why did they remove it in 11😭 I love my 2 in 1 laptop. Seriously sometimes I think it cant be serious and windows 11 is just an social experiment because that bad os cant exist, right?

MPP 2.0 pen is very choppy on Linux (Lunar Lake laptop)

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my laptop's MPP 2.0 stylus on Linux, and I'm running out of ideas.

My laptop has an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake) with 32 GB LPDDR5X RAM. The stylus works, but the cursor movement is very choppy and feels like it's running at a much lower refresh rate than it should. Writing and drawing don't feel smooth at all.

I've already tried multiple Linux distributions, including:

  • Ubuntu
  • Fedora
  • CachyOS

The problem is exactly the same on every single one of them.

I've also tested both KDE Plasma and GNOME, but there was no difference. Everything is fully up to date (kernel, Mesa, firmware, etc.), yet the issue persists.

At this point I'm not sure if this is a problem with Linux's MPP 2.0 implementation, Intel Lunar Lake support, or something specific to my laptop.

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Is there any way to get a proper Windows 10/8.1-like tablet mode on Linux?

I have an HP OmniBook with a touchscreen, Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake), Intel Arc 140V and 32 GB LPDDR5X RAM.

I love Linux and I daily drive it. I've tried both KDE Plasma and GNOME, but in tablet mode they both feel almost as awkward as Windows 11 or even more...

What I really miss is the tablet experience from Windows 10 or Windows 8.1:

  • touch-friendly UI
  • larger touch targets
  • easier navigation with fingers
  • smooth automatic switching between desktop and tablet usage

Is there any desktop environment, extension, compositor, or project that can provide something similar? Or is Linux simply not there yet when it comes to tablet UX?
