Has anyone been able to make something that looks like a camera w/o using mods? This is my best attempt at (an old fashioned style) one but I don’t think it particularly works

I’ve been staring at it so long idk what I’m looking at anymore

Attempting to make a photography studio for Haley but I hate how it looks atm. Any ideas? 🙏

The repeat photographs are until I hopefully get Haley’s stall at the desert festival

Does anyone have recs for swimming goggles that don’t trigger flare ups

i.e something that doesn’t squeeze your head in the wrong areas but that doesn’t let water in
thanks:)

Re-reading SOTR and Burdock is described as being younger than Haymitch, making him no older than 15. So he’s supposed to be only 2 years (or less) older than Louella

Atmospheric/rainy/coastal, feels like you're there

Would LOVE (but not necessary) something where the rain is romanticised, a sense of feeling comforted in the rain etc
But if not happy with literally anything super rainy/ atmospheric.

*Already read (and love) Rebecca
*not House on the cerulean sea, please!

Pictures are from pinterest, sorry if any are ai, l'm cooked and genuinely can't tell anymore
Thank you lovely people <3

Which “weird girl” books met your expectations and which turned out to be super disappointing and/or surprisingly tame? 👀

For me: loved “Tender is the flesh” and “convenience store woman”

Disappointed by: “Bunny”, “My year of rest and relaxation”

East of Eden by John Steinbeck - How do you differentiate between men being sexist and men critiquing sexism when they write?

I’ve just started reading East of Eden and although the consensus online mostly seems to be that Steinbeck’s narrators aren’t written to reflect his own views, I am still finding the constant misogyny (and racism) really uncomfortable to read 😕

For anyone who saw my last post, are any of these any better? (Hope this is ok to post!)

I also changed the sides to ombre as I wasn’t happy with how the drips looked
Thanks to everyone who commented with advice/tips :)

How can I take better photos of my cakes?

I followed advice I’ve seen to create a white background and to take it from further away at 1.5x but it still doesn’t look right to me
Thanks:)

Is it standard to garnish a black forest cake with fresh cherries without removing the stems and pits? Or is it mostly only done to look nice in photos and not to actually serve to people?

Making a black forest cake for a family friend. Most examples I see online garnish with whole cherries but every time I’ve actually eaten/seen one irl it’s just had cherries without the stems (like maraschino ones) but may be because I’ve never had properly fancy ones. I want it to look good as it’s for a party but I’m anxious about serving something with something not 100% edible on it. Is it normal/expected when ordering a black forest cake that each person will have to remove the cherry from their slice before eating?

(She gave me a list of cakes she likes but asked for the one I picked to be a surprise, so I can’t ask her which way she’d prefer)
Sorry if it’s a dumb question but I have anxiety and am (probably irrationally) worried that someone will try and eat it whole and choke or something
